The "little health guard" hanging on the ear

The "little health guard" hanging on the ear

Did you know? China was the first country in the world to use masks. In ancient times, people in the palace began to cover their mouths and noses with silk cloth to prevent dust and breath pollution. This was the most primitive mask.

With the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, masks have become "little health guards" to protect us and prevent germs from entering our mouths and noses. Do you know how masks protect us? Let's see what the "Science Popularization China" short film says!

A small layer of meltblown cloth

Isolate viruses and provide strong protection

Can a thin medical mask really isolate the virus?

Of course! The reason why medical masks can isolate viruses is mainly because of its "heart" - the meltblown fabric in the middle layer.

Meltblown cloth is usually made of polypropylene fiber with a diameter of 0.1-2 microns. It has excellent filtering, shielding, heat insulation and oil absorption, high porosity and good air permeability. Wearing it, you can breathe smoothly while isolating the virus. After the meltblown cloth is treated with electret, the fiber is charged. If droplets containing viruses approach the meltblown cloth, they will be statically adsorbed on the surface of the mask, which can effectively resist the virus.

How to wear a mask?

There are also rules for taking off masks

Due to the impact of the new coronavirus, masks must not be removed. However, many people still wear masks incorrectly, resulting in the virus not being effectively blocked. So how should masks be worn to make them work?

Like this?

so?

None of them are right!

When wearing a mask, the blue waterproof layer should first face outwards, because the waterproof layer is relatively smooth and can effectively block the entry of viruses.

Fit the white non-woven fabric to the person's face and put the ear straps on both sides behind the ears.

Gently pull with both hands to open the mask.

Use both hands to gently press the wire inside the mask to make it fit the sides of the nose.

Remember to make sure the bottom edge of the mask goes over the mandible and covers the face, and try not to leave any gaps.

There are also some rules for removing masks:

Try to avoid touching the outside of the mask with your hands, hold the ear straps with both hands, fold them in half simply and discard them properly.

Don't forget to wash your hands after taking off your mask~

A small mask is a great barrier. Wearing a mask correctly blocks germs and protects the health of yourself and others. The epidemic situation is serious, and wearing a mask consciously is the responsibility of everyone. We look forward to every healthy and happy day after the epidemic!
