Pregnant women will all discharge lochia after giving birth. As time goes by, the color of the lochia discharged after giving birth will gradually become lighter, and the amount will gradually decrease until it is completely discharged. Generally, the lochia discharged in the first three days after giving birth is bright red. So, is it normal for the lochia to still be bright red about half a month after giving birth? Under normal circumstances, the color of lochia discharged about ten days after giving birth is dark red. If the lochia discharged by pregnant women about ten days after giving birth is still very bright red, and the amount of lochia is large, it is very likely that abnormal bleeding is caused by poor uterine repair after giving birth or excessive fatigue. In this case, pregnant women need to go to the hospital for uterine repair or gynecological color ultrasound examination. Since the degree of uterine repair varies from person to person, the time it takes for postpartum lochia to be discharged also varies from person to person. If you still discharge a lot of red lochia more than ten days after giving birth, it is recommended that you go to the hospital for a check-up to see if there is any fetal membrane remaining in the uterine cavity and whether a uterine curettage is necessary. Although the lochia discharged about ten days after childbirth is serous lochia and the color is not too dark, it usually takes about 42 days after childbirth to be basically discharged. Because the uterus is still in the repair stage during this period, it is normal to have a small amount of red lochia sometimes before the lochia is completely discharged. As long as the amount of red lochia discharged is not too much and there is no odor, there is no need to worry too much. What are the symptoms of lochia in parturient women (1) Stubborn postpartum lochia: bright red in color, contains a lot of blood, large amount, and sometimes small blood clots. There are small amounts of fetal membranes and necrotic decidual tissue. Stubborn lochia lasts for 3 to 4 days, the amount of abnormal uterine bleeding gradually decreases, the serum increases, and it changes into serous lochia. (2) Light red in color and contains too much pulp. A small amount of blood, but a large amount of necrotic decidual tissue, cervical mucus, intrauterine exudate, and pathogens. Serous lochia lasts about 10 days, the serum level gradually decreases, the white blood cells increase, and the lochia becomes white lochia. (3) White lochia: thick and white in color. Contains a lot of white blood cell counts, necrotic tissue decidua, epidermal cells and bacteria, etc. The white lochia lasted for 3 weeks. Under normal circumstances, postpartum lochia has a fishy smell but no peculiar smell. It lasts for 4 to 6 weeks, with a total output of about 250Ml-500ml, with great individual differences. By observing the lochia after delivery, paying attention to the changes in its quality and quantity, color and smell, as well as the state of uterine repair, we can understand whether the uterine repair is normal. |
