If your girlfriend has menstrual cramps, don’t ask her to drink hot water anymore. You can also do this…

"Oh, I can't drink cold drinks!" "Then drink more hot water!" I almost slapped him. The days of a girl's month are undoubtedly the best way to tell the nature of her boyfriend. Today we are here to save the fairies who are deeply troubled by dysmenorrhea, and give some advice to the straight men.

Dysmenorrhea is a common gynecological disease, which usually occurs in women aged 14 to 50. The female body can produce prostaglandins, but about 50% of girls secrete too much prostaglandins or are overly sensitive to prostaglandins, which leads to dysmenorrhea.

Dysmenorrhea is divided into two types: primary and secondary.

Primary dysmenorrhea refers to those without organic lesions in the reproductive organs. Studies have shown that primary dysmenorrhea accounts for more than 90% of dysmenorrhea in young women. Primary dysmenorrhea is related to excessive sensitivity to hormonal changes during menstruation, and it is generally believed that changes in prostaglandins are the root cause of dysmenorrhea.

Secondary dysmenorrhea refers to dysmenorrhea caused by pelvic inflammatory diseases, such as endometriosis, which is more common in women of childbearing age.

Dysmenorrhea also has different levels. Levels 1-3 will cause mild discomfort in the lower abdomen; levels 4-6, the degree of distension and pain in the lower abdomen will be significantly deepened; and levels above 7 are severe pains, and the patient may become pale and sweat profusely.

For women who suffer from dysmenorrhea, every visit from their period is like going through a tribulation. They feel pain whether they are standing, sitting or lying down, and have no idea whether they are falling asleep or fainting.

Can't drink ice water, can't touch cold water... The irritability during menstruation is not just pretentious. Since women's endocrine system is controlled by two hormones, progesterone and lutein, their levels in women begin to decrease a week before menstruation. Emotions then protest, resulting in the manifestation of "menstrual syndrome".

Mood swings are normal during menstruation. Girls should eat more foods rich in calcium, such as milk, soy products, and kelp. Low estrogen and progesterone during menstruation can cause edema. Girls with dysmenorrhea can reduce salt intake before menstruation and try to drink more water. Moderate exercise is also needed during menstruation to excrete some edema.

If it is primary dysmenorrhea, it is generally recommended to apply hot compresses to keep warm. If the pain is severe, you can use dysmenorrhea patches and painkillers, such as analgesics containing ibuprofen or naproxen, to relieve the pain. Painkillers have no obvious side effects and are not addictive, so you can take them with confidence.

If the dysmenorrhea is caused by organic diseases, it is recommended to go to the hospital for uterine adnexal ultrasound and other examinations, and take medication or surgical treatment.

"You just need to bear with the pain for a few days a month and it will go away", "Dysmenorrhea is not a disease, you don't need to go to the hospital"... These statements are totally wrong! Untreated dysmenorrhea can not only induce gynecological diseases, but also cause infertility. Frequent dysmenorrhea can also easily lead to habitual abortion, which seriously affects women's health.

Finally, even with the support of medication, you must maintain a healthy lifestyle and arrange your daily life reasonably, so that you can keep your body in good condition and dysmenorrhea can say goodbye to you.
