Expert of this article: Xu Qibin, associate chief physician, deputy director of ophthalmology department, Zhejiang Provincial Hospital of Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine Every time when night falls Lying in bed Leave the day's work and worries behind Try to relax every cell in your body stop! There is one thing I can't let go of That's the mobile phone! How many people will use their mobile phones? As a sign of the end of the day But the mobile phone is too fun This day takes so long to end While you are happily scrolling through your phone while staying up late Your eyes are quietly changing A 31-year-old man in Shenzhen, as usual, opened the mobile game after dinner when he got home from get off work, and played for several hours, and even took out his phone to play some more before going to bed. The next morning, when he opened his eyes, he found that his left eye seemed to be completely blind. He closed his eyes and rested for a few minutes before opening them again. His vision had recovered a little, but the visual field above his left eye was still damaged. Afterwards, the man rushed to the hospital's ophthalmology department for treatment. After the doctor examined him, he found that his left eye's vision was only 0.4, and there was a branch artery blockage under the retina of the fundus. In other words, his left eye had a "stroke". We often hear about stroke But I didn’t know that the eyes could also cause a stroke! What kind of disease is this? Will there be serious harm? How to prevent it? Look down What is an "eye stroke"? "Eye stroke" is an emergency in ophthalmology. It is clinically called retinal artery occlusion, which can be divided into central retinal artery occlusion and branch retinal artery occlusion. Once an "eye stroke" occurs, the patient's vision suddenly deteriorates, and may be reduced to light sensitivity, or even no light sensitivity, and the pupil of the affected eye will also dilate. Some patients also experience intermittent blackouts when they are the precursors to an "eye stroke", which is often manifested as sudden loss of vision, followed by a sudden relief and improved vision. After repeating this several times, another "eye stroke" occurs. Who is prone to high incidence? Anyone can have an eye stroke. This disease usually occurs in one eye, but rarely in both eyes. "Eye stroke" in young people is often caused by trauma, staying up late, irregular work and rest, migraine, etc. "Eye stroke" in middle-aged and elderly people is more common due to arteriosclerosis, thrombosis, surgery, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, arterial spasm, heart disease, etc. What are the dangers of “eye stroke”? How to treat it? When an "eye stroke" occurs, patients often experience extreme visual impairment in the affected eye, with only peripheral light present, or even blindness. Since the limit of retinal hypoxia is 2 hours, if the blood supply and oxygen supply to the retina cannot be restored within 2 hours, the retina will become edematous, pale and atrophied. At this time, even if treatment is given, it cannot be reversed. After a long time, new blood vessels appear in the retina due to hypoxia and ischemia, causing retinal hemorrhage and secondary glaucoma, which brings pain to patients. Since "eye stroke" is an emergency, once it occurs, the patient must go to the hospital's ophthalmology department for diagnosis and treatment immediately. On the way, the patient can massage the affected eye by himself to reduce eye pressure and increase blood supply to the eye. After arriving at the hospital, the ophthalmologist will give a series of treatment measures after understanding the medical history, physical signs, symptoms, examination and diagnosis, including lowering intraocular pressure, taking vasodilators, oxygen inhalation, sublingual nitroglycerin tablets, and thrombolytic therapy. In particular, thrombolytic therapy is often performed on the patient's ophthalmic artery in collaboration with ophthalmology and neurosurgery within a limited rescue time, so that the thrombus and embolus melt and flush out, restoring blood flow to the retina and saving the patient's vision. How to prevent it? To prevent "eye stroke", you need to develop good living, working and eating habits. Stay away from high blood pressure and high blood lipids, don't eat too greasy food, keep exercising, and don't be obese. Elderly patients with hypertension, high blood lipids, etc. should pay attention to measuring their blood pressure at home, go to the hospital for physical examinations regularly, and use medications rationally under the guidance of an internist. Maintain a regular life and work schedule, quit smoking and drinking, don't stay up late, and avoid excessive physical fatigue. Have regular eye and fundus examinations. If you find that your vision is decreasing or blackouts occur, you need to see an ophthalmologist immediately. The topic of "Staying up late to play with your phone is very harmful" We've talked about this many times. We always warn others. and being advised by others Wandering back and forth I hope everyone can take care of their bodies Always remind yourself and those around you I wish everyone could have a pair of healthy and bright eyes. |
