Data shows that there are about 330 million people suffering from cardiovascular diseases in China, and cardiovascular diseases are seriously endangering human life and health. Wang Daowen, vice president of the Cardiovascular Disease Branch of the Chinese Geriatrics Society, has been engaged in clinical and basic research on cardiovascular diseases for a long time and has established a standardized treatment system for the disease. Data shows that the number of patients with cardiovascular diseases is increasing year by year, and the research and prevention of cardiovascular diseases in my country are facing more severe challenges. Cardiovascular diseases are different from other diseases. There are many causes. Lack of exercise and unhealthy diet may cause cardiovascular diseases, so the prevention of cardiovascular diseases is particularly important. So how should cardiovascular diseases be prevented? Wang Daowen said: "From the perspective of prevention, the first thing is to find the risk factors. Now many risk factors have been found. High blood lipids, high blood sugar and high blood pressure are the three highs that everyone knows. In addition, there are obesity, smoking, family genetic background, lack of exercise, high-salt diet, etc. These are called risk factors, or acquired factors. It is necessary to prevent these risk factors. There are many ways, such as people exercising appropriately." Wang Daowen also specifically mentioned an issue that should be noted when preventing cardiovascular diseases: Don’t wait until old age to start preventing cardiovascular diseases. Diseases are related to genetics. Many diseases do not occur until people are older, such as cardiovascular diseases. However, this disease has genetic factors and can be detected when people are young. Cardiovascular diseases should be prevented from an earlier age. Wang Daowen even advocates adding genetics to risk prediction, because this can predict potential risk factors in advance. The continuous development of genetic engineering and the gradual maturity of genetic diagnosis and genotyping technology can help people predict the possibility of disease based on changes in genome sequences before the disease occurs. This will enable health assessments and predictions for individuals at any stage of their growth, and the development of corresponding intervention plans, thereby providing prevention and health protection.
