After a miscarriage, the lochia comes back again

Women experience lochia after abortion or giving birth, which is a normal physiological phenomenon. However, if the lochia is intermittent or continuously unclean, it may mean that there is something wrong with the health of the pregnant woman and timely corresponding measures must be taken for treatment. Then what happens if the lochia clears up after the abortion and comes back again?

What is the reason for the lochia to come back after the abortion?

The duration of postpartum lochia varies from person to person, but it is generally around 6 weeks. If the time for postpartum lochia to be discharged is too short, it is possible that the remnants of postpartum lochia have blocked the cervical opening, causing the illusion that the postpartum lochia has disappeared. This situation may cause sudden and heavy bleeding after the lochia subsides for a period of time due to stimulation caused by exercise.

What are the reasons for lochia after childbirth?

1. Qi deficiency: The body is qi deficient and the qi is insufficient. In addition, the pregnant woman loses too much blood during childbirth, which consumes qi, or she works too hard after giving birth, which damages the spleen, causing qi deficiency and depression, and the Chong and Ren meridians become unfixed, making it impossible to absorb blood, resulting in continuous lochia after delivery.

2. Heat in the blood: The patient is suffering from kidney yin deficiency and has excessive blood loss during childbirth, which leads to loss of yin and fluid, internal fire caused by yin deficiency, or eating too much spicy, warm and dry food after giving birth, or experiencing heat evil, or stagnation of liver qi damaging body fluid, heat disturbing Chong and Ren meridians, forcing blood to flow downward, and causing unclean lochia.

3. Blood stasis: After giving birth, the placenta becomes stuffy, and dampness enters the placenta, causing the blood to become cold and coagulated; or due to emotional injury, the blood becomes qi stagnation and blood stasis; or due to residual blood stasis after childbirth, the placenta and fetal membrane remain as blood stasis, causing internal resistance, and the new blood is restless and cannot return to the meridians, resulting in unclean lochia.

The occurrence of postpartum lochia is a stage that every woman must go through after giving birth. During this period, women should pay special attention to their daily hygiene to prevent postpartum lochia from causing physical discomfort. Why does lochia come back again after the abortion? The above article has already made a detailed discussion on this, and I hope that ladies will not panic when encountering such a situation.
