Moxibustion for diarrhea

Acupoint: Special point for diarrhea (location: directly below the highest point of the lateral malleolus, at the junction of the red and white flesh).

Moxibustion: Use gentle moxibustion with moxa rolls, 10 to 15 minutes each time, 2 to 3 times a day, until cured.

Acupoints: Tianshu, Zhongwan, Qihai and Shangjuxu points.

Acupoint combination: For those with severe cold, add Shenque and Guanyuan points; for those with severe dampness, add Yinlingquan point; for those with nausea and vomiting, add Neiguan point; for those with severe tenesmus, add Zhongluyu point.

Moxibustion method: Shenque point is treated with salt moxibustion or ginger moxibustion, 5 to 8 times each time. Other acupoints are treated with gentle moxibustion with moxa sticks, 5 minutes each time, once a day.

Symptoms: abdominal pain with rumbling in the intestines, feces smelling like rotten eggs, accompanied by undigested food, pain relieved after diarrhea, fullness in the abdomen, belching, sour and smelly, loss of appetite, dirty or thick tongue coating, slippery and solid pulse. Moxibustion method: It is advisable to use the large intestine meridian of hand yangming, stomach meridian of foot yangming and Ren meridian acupoints for treatment. Moxibustion with moxa cone and ginger: put 2 mm thick ginger slices on the acupoints, pierce several holes in the middle, put moxa cones on the ginger slices, select 3-5 acupoints each time, moxibustion 3-5 times per acupoint, once a day or every other day, 7-10 days as a course of treatment. Moxibustion points: Zhongwan, Shangwan, Tianshu, Shanglian, Xialian, Gongsun, Neiguan.
