After getting married, many couples will choose to prepare for pregnancy at the right time. Preparing for pregnancy is not only for women, but also for men. To successfully get pregnant, women must first understand their ovulation period. The pregnancy rate is highest when having sex during the ovulation period. So how do you know if you have ovulated during the pregnancy preparation period? How do you read the ovulation test paper?

How to know ovulation when preparing for pregnancy

There are many ways to find out whether ovulation has occurred, such as measuring basal body temperature. That is, when you have your period, just wake up every morning, lie in bed without talking and start measuring your basal body temperature. Generally, when ovulation occurs, the body temperature will rise by about 0.3-0.5 degrees, which means that ovulation has occurred.

You can also check your blood. After ovulation, draw blood around the 21st to 23rd day of menstruation. If the progesterone level in the blood rises to more than 15ng/mL, it also means ovulation has occurred.

You can also use an ovulation test strip to test once a day starting from the tenth day of your period. If you find that the red bar on the test strip is gradually getting darker, increase the frequency of testing, preferably every 4 hours. A strong positive test indicates that ovulation is about to occur. Try to drink less water 2 hours before testing the ovulation test strip to prevent excessive urination from diluting the concentration of LH in the urine, resulting in inaccurate testing.

Another more reliable method is to do a vaginal B-ultrasound examination. You can start measuring follicles around the 10th day of menstruation. The normal size of mature follicles is 18-25mm. If it is lower or larger than this standard, it will not ovulate normally. Do a B-ultrasound examination every 2 days until ovulation. This can clarify the growth and development of follicles, as well as whether ovulation has occurred. When you see mature follicles, and then the mature follicles disappear, it also means that ovulation has occurred.

Ovulation test strips detect luteinizing hormone in urine, and determine the development of follicles and the time of ovulation based on the height change of the hormone level. The test should be conducted between 3:00 and 8:00 p.m. every day. If the test result shows a red line, it is negative; if it shows a red line and a light red line, it is weakly positive; if both lines are the same red, it is strongly positive. Observe the process of the ovulation test strip changing from weakly positive to strongly positive and then to weakly positive, which is the process of ovulation.

What does leucorrhea look like during ovulation?

Just after menstruation, mucus secretions increase and gradually become thinner and transparent, similar to egg white. The probability of ovulation is highest on the day with the most mucus.

At this time, you can observe your leucorrhea, which is transparent, clear, elastic, and can be stretched very long without being easily broken. If you can see a long string of transparent liquid hanging there when you go to the toilet, or if you find your panties wet and slippery when you get up in the morning, these are all signs of leucorrhea, indicating that ovulation is about to occur.

Due to individual differences, some female friends may experience ovulation without any ejaculation, so this method is not suitable for everyone.
