How to transplant spider plants? How to cultivate spider plants in soil after hydroponics

Chlorophytum is a common green plant in the home. Because it grows many branches, and small Chlorophytum grows on the branches, it needs to be hung up after a long time to let the branches fall naturally. It can be said to be very beautiful. These small Chlorophytum can also be cut off and transplanted to a new pot. So how can it be transplanted?

How to transplant spider plants

When transplanting, cut off the small spider plants that have been separated, cut them together with the roots, and then disinfect them. Leave them for one to two days to ventilate. Then plant them. The hanging basket has a very strong vitality. Even if it is left alone for a week, it will not die. You can also plant them directly. But it is not easy to survive.

It is best to choose loose, breathable and water-resistant soil for the potting soil. Chlorophytum does not have high requirements for soil. However, it needs to give the roots enough space to grow. Because the roots of Chlorophytum will swell after absorbing water. So it is best to choose loose soil. And the drainage should be good, otherwise the roots will easily rot. This is the method of transplanting small Chlorophytum by division.

If you want to transplant the whole plant, you should gently take the spider plant out of the pot to avoid damaging the root system. You will find that the spider plant has many nodular roots. This is because the spider plant's root system has a strong ability to absorb and retain water. These roots are very fragile, so you must pay special attention during the transplanting process. Peel off the old soil from the base. Then replace it with new soil and water it thoroughly. Place the spider plant in a place with sufficient sunlight. Then wait for it to adapt to the pot and grow naturally.

How to grow spider plants in soil after hydroponics

If you want to transplant hydroponic spider plants into soil cultivation, you can transplant them all year round. However, if you transplant them in spring and autumn, the seedling acclimatization period is short, and they grow fast after acclimatization. If you transplant them in winter, the temperature is low, the plants grow slowly, and they need to adapt to the new environment, so the acclimatization period will be longer and the growth will not be very obvious.

When transplanting, try to place it in a warm place indoors. After planting, place it in a warm place and avoid the sun. After about a week, move it to a sunny place to grow.

1. Find a flower pot that is of suitable size and beautiful;

2. Place some broken bricks and tiles at the bottom of the flowerpot as a drainage layer;

3. Make the soil loose, breathable and well-drained, and fertile is better;

4. Take out the original flower pot of the hydroponic spider plant and check if there are any rotten roots. If there are, cut them off and plant them directly in the flower pot;

5. Water thoroughly and place in a cool and ventilated place for maintenance.

How to make spider plants bloom

There are three necessary conditions for the spider plant to bloom.

First, the soil. The best soil for cultivation is well-rotted pine needles. Change the soil regularly, preferably once a year. The nutrients needed by spider plants mainly come from the potting soil. When you don't change the soil for a long time, the nutrients in the soil will be exhausted and not replenished in time. If the plant lacks nutrients, the leaves will become thinner. Loosen the soil in time.

Second, fertilizer. Apply enough base fertilizer, bury the fried soybeans at the bottom of the pot. Apply fertilizer frequently, but be careful not to overdo it. Chlorophytum does not need too much fertilizer. Once it is overdosed, the leaves will begin to lose their luster, the roots will gradually rot, and the leaves will turn yellow. At this time, you must stop fertilizing, fill the pot with clean water, or directly turn the pot over, take out the roots, wash them, and replace them with new soil.

The third is water. Chlorophytum likes to see dry and wet, so water it thoroughly when it is dry. Check the Chlorophytum once a week and water it once. Once the roots lack water, the plant will gradually turn yellow from the bottom.
