How to treat vulvar itching and swelling

The most common gynecological disease among female friends is vulvar itching, swelling and pain. This disease is not a serious disease, and female friends should not underestimate symptoms such as vulvar itching. Once this kind of situation occurs, it needs to be treated well. If it is not treated, it will have a great impact on women's daily life. So, how to treat vulvar itching and swelling?

1. General treatment: Pay attention to hygiene during menstruation, keep the vulva clean and dry, and do not scratch. Do not wash with boiling water or use soap. If there is an infection, you can take a bath in a potassium permanganate solution, but partial cleaning is prohibited. Clothing, especially underwear, should be loose and breathable. Quit smoking, drinking, spicy food or ingredients that may cause skin allergies.

2. Medication treatment for vulvar itching:

(1) Topical medication: In case of inflammatory reaction, 1% levofloxacin plus 1 foil of livanol aqueous solution or 30% boric acid solution can be applied to the face. After washing, 40% active zinc oxide ointment can be applied partially. For chronic itching, corticosteroid cream or 2% diphenhydramine cream can be applied.

(2) Anti-edema drugs: When the symptoms are more serious, you can take 4mSt of chlorpheniramine, 25mg of diphenhydramine, or 25ml of isopropylamine to achieve both sedation and skin allergy effects.

3. Treatment of the cause of the disease: Eliminate local or systemic factors that cause itching, such as Trichomonas, Trichomonas infection or diabetes. If pubic lice are found, the male pubic hair should be shaved, the underwear should be boiled and washed, and 1% malathion granules or 25%-50% Stemona tincture can also be applied externally.

Causes of vulvar itching and swelling

There are many reasons for vulvar itching and swelling, such as folliculitis, vestibular glanditis, vulvar furuncle and so on. Vaginitis, fungal and chlamydia infections can cause itching and swelling of the vulva. Because the private parts are adjacent to the urethra and anus, and are rubbed by the legs during movement, various inflammations can spread to the private parts. Female vulvitis, vaginitis, vulvar leukoplakia, local friction irritation and other reasons are also the main factors causing vulvar itching and swelling.

What should I pay attention to when my vulva is itchy and swollen?

1. Pay attention to environmental hygiene during menstruation, wash menstrual pads frequently and clean frequently during menstruation.

2. Keep the vulva clean and dry. No need to scrub with hot water or wash with soap.

3. Avoid abusing or misusing drugs, scratching or rubbing the affected area.

4. Quit smoking, drinking, and spicy food, do not eat seafood, and do not take medicines that may cause allergies.

5. Do not wear tight crotch pants. Underwear should be loose and breathable, and preferably made of cotton.

6. If there is damage or infection in some parts, soak them in 1:5000 potassium permanganate solution (add a small amount of potassium permanganate solution powder to warm water to make it dark red, not too concentrated), twice a day, each time for 20 to 30 minutes.

7. Go to the doctor to check whether there are fungi or trichomonas. If so, seek medical treatment in time instead of using antipruritic water to treat it yourself.

8. Those who cannot be cured need to have their blood sugar levels checked.
