What does ductal dilatation mean?

In daily life, we all know that women's breasts need to be well cared for due to their unique structure, otherwise it is easy to cause various adverse symptoms, which will cause serious damage to women's health. So, what does enlarged mammary glands mean? Let’s find out below!

Mammary duct ectasia is a breast disease that is not common in clinical medicine. Due to its one-sidedness, it is often misdiagnosed as mastitis, breast tuberculosis or breast cancer. The most typical symptoms are nipple discharge, mild pain in the nipple area, and tender lumps. Generally speaking, mammary gland enlargement is a normal symptom and the present medical history is slow.

The mammary gland tube is relatively thin during the non-breastfeeding period, and it is usually impossible to observe it through color Doppler ultrasound examination. The mammary gland tube system will expand normally during lactation, and the tube expansion can be observed through ultrasound. There is no need to worry about simple tube expansion, as it is just a condition. If it is physiological tube expansion, the cause of the mammary gland tube expansion needs to be diagnosed.

First of all, it is important to understand that mammary gland enlargement is a symptom, not a diagnosis of a disease. There are many reasons for it, the most common of which are inflammation and intramammary papilloma.

Next, diagnose what caused it and do different tests to diagnose the tube expansion. After the diagnosis is confirmed by B-ultrasound, further examination is recommended, and a breast ductoscopy is recommended for examination.

Ductoscopy can be used to determine whether there is intraductal papilloma, because intraductal papilloma requires surgical intervention. If it is not treated for a long time, there is a possibility of disease. Some reasons may be inflammation, while others are relatively easy to solve.

The treatment of mammary gland enlargement includes systemic treatment, mainly using antibiotics; local treatment, including external use of medicines and mammary gland patency, to promote the smoothness of mammary glands. It is recommended to pay more attention to cleanliness and hygiene in normal times. To improve your physical fitness, do more exercise and enhance your immune system.
