Taking cefixime capsules during breastfeeding

Pregnant women are a special group of people, and women who are breastfeeding also need to pay attention to their own conditions and need to pay attention to diet, medication, etc. So, regarding cefuroxime capsules, can this medicine be taken during breastfeeding?

In short, it is unclear whether ceftriaxone is metabolized in human milk. When using ceftriaxone capsules, consideration should be given to discontinuing breastfeeding.

The accuracy of cefuroxime capsules in relation to pregnancy has not been clearly established, so pregnant women or women who may become pregnant should consider carefully before taking the medication, and the medication can be taken when the benefits outweigh the disadvantages. There is no scientific research on the effect of cephalexin on pregnancy and delivery. This product should only be used when it is clearly necessary.

The peak plasma concentration and AUC of ceftriaxone capsules in the elderly can be 26% and 20% higher than those in young people, respectively. Elderly people undergoing rehabilitation can use this product.

The dosage should be adjusted for patients with renal insufficiency, and patients with creatinine clearance ≥6b250l/min can use it according to the general dosage and treatment process. Patients with creatinine clearance of 21-6b250l/min or blood analysis can be given 75% of the standard dosage (standard dosing interval). Patients with creatinine clearance <2b250l/min or long-term bedridden peritoneal dialysis can be given half of the standard dosage (standard dosing interval).

Cefuroxime Capsules are third-generation cephalosporins for oral administration with a broad antibacterial spectrum. They have antibacterial specificity against some Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, especially against Streptococcus (except Enterococcus) and Pneumococcus among Gram-positive bacteria, Chlamydia, Branhamella Gram-negative rods, Salmonella, Klebsiella, Serratia, Proteus, Streptococcus influenzae and other Gram-negative bacteria. Its mechanism of action is bactericidal.

Finally, the editor reminds that pregnant women and breastfeeding women need to take medicine under the guidance of a specialist.
