How long does it take for HPV58 to be positive?

HPV58 positive indicates HPV58 infection. HPV58 is a type of HPV virus. According to the infection site, it belongs to the mucosal type; according to the carcinogenicity, it belongs to the high-risk type. It is recommended to go to a regular hospital for further cervical TCT examination or cervical puncture biopsy and timely treatment. So, how long does it take for HPV58 to be positive?

HPV58 is positive and can be cured if it is a transient infection. The average elimination time for women is 8 months, 30% can last for more than 1 year, and 9% can last for 2 years. HPV infection is a risk factor for cervical cancer, but it does not necessarily mean that you will get cervical cancer. The results of TCT should be combined. If the TCT test is normal, regular follow-up visits are sufficient. Usually, you should pay attention to maintaining a stable lifestyle, not staying up late, not eating spicy and irritating foods, not drinking alcohol, increasing exercise, and improving the body's resistance, all of which can help promote the elimination of HPV58 positivity. High-risk HPV58 infection is also contagious to a certain extent. Couples should remember to use condoms during sexual intercourse to prevent cross-infection.

HPV type 58 ( ) takes about 1 year to turn negative. This is because in clinical medicine, more than 80% of patients have transient high-risk HPV infections, which will disappear on their own after about 8 months to 1 year. However, 20% of patients will still be persistently infected, and persistent infection with high-risk HPV can cause degeneration of cervical epithelial cells and even cervical cancer. Therefore, when high-risk HPV58 infection is first discovered, a colposcopy should be performed first. If the colposcopy result is (-), it is recommended to have a follow-up HPV examination after six months to one year. If the colposcopy result is ( ), active treatment and regular follow-up are recommended.

HPV58 positive results in the following harms:

1. Ulcers and bleeding: As the disease expands and increases, it may cause partial foreign matter and discomfort. Because the sites of disease occurrence are mostly in the foreskin, urethral orifice, vulva, vagina, around the anus, etc., these sites are very susceptible to infection by microorganisms, causing ulcers, suppuration, bleeding, pain and swelling in the diseased sites.

2. It will affect other people in the family. When one spouse tests positive for HPV58, the chance of the other spouse being infected is about 70%. In addition, it may also be transmitted to relatives through close daily life.

3. Lesions: Malignant tumors are the most serious complications of HPV58 positivity. Early and effective treatment is an effective way to prevent HPV58-positive lesions.
