Will there be any deformity if there is too much amniotic fluid at 39 weeks?

After 39 weeks of pregnancy, the time for delivery is approaching. The health status of pregnant friends will affect the time and difficulty of delivery. Among them, the state of amniotic fluid is very important to the health of the fetus in the late pregnancy. So, will there be abnormalities if there is too much amniotic fluid at 39 weeks?

If there is polyhydramnios during the 39th week of pregnancy, it is generally unlikely that any malformation will occur, because the 39th week of pregnancy is already the late pregnancy, and the fetus has already grown and formed during the late pregnancy, so malformations are very rare.

If the amniotic fluid flow at 39 weeks of pregnancy is not too much, it will not cause harm to the fetus. If it is too much and poses a threat to the health of the fetus, the doctor will tell you the situation and perform amniotic fluid extraction on you.

In the late pregnancy, the depth of amniotic fluid is between 3-7 cm, which is normal. If it exceeds 7 cm, it means that the amniotic fluid of the pregnant woman has increased. The amniotic fluid index of 8-20cm is a normal amniotic fluid flow. When the amniotic fluid index is lower than 5cm, it means there is too little amniotic fluid and the pregnancy should be terminated as soon as possible. Oligohydramnios in late pregnancy is mostly caused by reduced placental function. Abnormal development of the urogenital system can also cause oligohydramnios, but it is very rare and can sometimes be detected by B-ultrasound examination. In the late pregnancy, if the umbilical cord of the fetus is wrapped around the neck, it usually cannot be turned around and a cesarean section must be performed under the doctor's advice.

The amount of amniotic fluid in pregnant women gradually increases with the growth of the fetus. When the fetus reaches 38 weeks, the amniotic fluid flow reaches its peak, with an average of about 1000ml, and then gradually decreases to an average of about 800ml at 40 weeks. If the amniotic fluid flow exceeds 2000ml at any time during pregnancy, it is called polyhydramnios.

Because of excessive amniotic fluid, the mother will always feel that her abdomen is expanding abnormally quickly, and will experience symptoms such as panic, chest tightness, shortness of breath, and swollen legs and feet. The fetus floats in the water and cannot "dock". Although polyhydramnios is not a good condition, there is no need to worry. Some testing methods such as color ultrasound can detect polyhydramnios at a glance, and if it is discovered in the early stage, timely and effective measures can be taken.
