Sore throat and esophagus after morning sickness

The esophagus is the area that the human body must pass through when eating. Diseases related to the esophagus are not common in daily life, but the more serious ones include esophageal cancer, esophagitis, etc. Although diseases related to the esophagus are not common, it does not mean that they will not occur. Sometimes you may feel a hot and burning pain in your esophagus. This is a symptom that your esophagus is "sick." So what is going on?

What causes a burning sensation in the esophagus?

This condition is a typical reflux esophagitis, an inflammatory disease of the esophagus caused by the reflux of gastric and duodenal contents into the esophagus. Endoscopic manifestations include damage to the esophageal mucosa, namely esophageal erosion and/or esophageal ulcer. In addition to causing complications such as esophageal stenosis, bleeding, and ulcers, the reflux of gastric acid can also erode the throat, larynx, and bronchi, causing chronic pharyngitis, chronic laryngitis, and tracheitis. You can take omeprazole, colloidal bismuth pectin, gastritis granules and other medications orally. Don't drink alcohol or eat spicy and irritating foods.

The purpose of treatment is to reduce the reflux of gastric contents, reduce the stimulation of reflux, and improve the dilation function of the lower esophagus.

(1) Reduce reflux: Because reflux is more likely to occur at night when the patient is in a horizontal position or with the head down and the feet up, the bed should be raised so that there is an oblique slope from the bed to the foot of the bed. This way, even if reflux occurs, it can be cleared more quickly. Advise the patient not to eat before going to bed, and the interval between dinner and bedtime should be lengthened to more than 3 hours. After each meal, let the patient stand or walk, relying on the force to help the food be excreted. In addition, avoid eating irritating foods and avoid excessive exercise.

(2) Reduce the stimulation of reflux: To reduce the stimulation of reflux, you can take medicines such as cimetidine and ranitidine, which can inhibit and reduce gastric juice metabolism. You can also use Losec 2b250g once every night. You can also use aluminum chloride gel 1b250l, taken orally 3 times a day, to reduce the irritation of gastric juice.

(3) Improve the effect of lower esophageal dilation: Taking metoclopramide or metoclopramide 15 to 30 minutes before meals can increase the working pressure of the lower esophageal dilation, accelerate gastric emptying, and reduce reflux. Newer gastrointestinal motility drugs such as cisapride (Cespside) can also be used.

(4) Eating more light dishes can reduce the chance of reflux, while foods that are significantly irritating to the gastric mucosa may increase the secretion of gastric acid, causing a continuous increase in key reflux products such as gastric juice in the stomach. Therefore, you should avoid eating some irritating foods, or eat less foods that slow down gastrointestinal motility, and eat more light, soft and easy-to-digest foods.

(5) It is best not to eat before going to bed, and the interval between dinner and bedtime should be longer, more than 3 hours. You should stand or take a walk after a meal, but avoid excessive exercise. Reflux usually occurs more often at night, so the bed should be raised so that there is an oblique slope from the bed to the foot of the bed, so that even if reflux occurs, it can be cleared quickly.

(6) General medical care: The prognosis of this disease is generally good. Nursing staff should help patients understand the disease and make them pay attention to their diet and lifestyle in their daily lives. To reduce attacks and relieve symptoms.

During the diagnosis process of the disease, some laboratory tests are sometimes needed. These tests have strict requirements, such as esophageal pH measurement, stopping all medications 48 hours before the test, and eating a test meal on the same day. In addition to understanding the purpose, methods, and common problems of the entire examination, nursing staff should also make patients understand the significance and requirements of the examination in order to obtain the cooperation of patients.
