What are the pictures of women with anal polyps? Anal polyps refer to neoplasms that occur on the anal canal or duodenal mucosa. Most of them are annular or oval masses with pedicles that can penetrate into the intestinal canal and move left and right. The vast majority of its pedicles are intestinal mucosa caused by increased gastrointestinal function or excretion stretch. Anal polyps are mostly caused by diffuse irritation from feces. They are generally benign tumors, but rarely they can become malignant. Single anal polyps are common, and multiple ones are very rare.

Causes

There are many factors that may cause anal polyps, such as dietary factors, inflammatory stimulation, excrement, foreign body stimulation, mechanical injury, and genetic factors.

Clinical symptoms

1. Blood in the stool

Painless blood in the stool is the main clinical symptom of anal polyps, but some patients may never have blood in the stool. Polyps have less bleeding in their stools. If the polyps fall off due to squeezing during defecation, and if the polyps are large and low in position, more bleeding may occur. The characteristic of blood in the stool is that there is blood, but no retained blood.

2. Prolapse

When anal polyps are large or numerous, the intestinal mucosa is stretched due to the force, causing it to gradually separate from the muscle layer and sag downward. The patient's bowel movement is stretched and the gastrointestinal function is stimulated, which can relax the mucosal layer around the rectum and increase the risk of rectal mucosal prolapse.

3. Gastrointestinal irritation

When the gastrointestinal function stretches polyps, gastrointestinal irritation symptoms may occur, such as abdominal discomfort, abdominal pain, diarrhea, mucous stools, anal prolapse, etc.
