Can I take weight loss products during breastfeeding?

Everyone loves beauty, and many mothers can't wait to start various weight loss plans to restore their body shape after giving birth. The overwhelming advertisements for weight loss products on the market are also attracting thousands of people who want to lose weight quickly. So, can women take weight loss products while breastfeeding? Will eating it affect the physical and mental health of myself and my baby?

Can I take weight loss products during breastfeeding?

It is not recommended to lose weight during breastfeeding. If breastfeeding mothers take weight loss products, most of the drugs will be excreted through breast milk, affecting the health of the baby. Basically all therapeutic drugs taken by breastfeeding mothers appear in breast milk. The weight loss products on the market today are generally appetite retarders or digestion blockers. To prevent newborn babies from being exposed to unnecessary medications, or to minimize the amount, breastfeeding women are not suitable for taking weight loss products.

During breastfeeding, it is recommended to eat a balanced diet and drink plenty of nourishing soup ingredients to ensure that the baby has enough breast milk. In order to restore weight and figure after giving birth, you can insist on doing postpartum exercises every day. Postpartum exercises are different from general outdoor activities. They can purposefully exercise the increasingly loose abdominal and pelvic floor muscles, and are therefore an important way to restore your body shape after childbirth. Generally, if you persist for 3-6 months, you can get relatively ideal results.

How to lose weight while breastfeeding

1. Weight loss time

Losing weight during breastfeeding does not mean that you can lose weight as soon as you give birth. New mothers must master the time of weight loss so that they can lose weight reasonably and healthily. First of all, you should get your doctor's consent before losing weight. The doctor will make suggestions based on your physical condition. Secondly, the time to lose weight is usually 6 to 8 weeks after giving birth, because the body needs some time to repair and ensure the normal supply of breast milk after giving birth.

2. Weight loss rate

It is not suitable to lose weight too quickly during breastfeeding. Too much rapid weight loss will have a negative impact. Experts from the British College of Obstetrics and Gynecology also suggest that during the period of exclusive breastfeeding, it is more appropriate to lose 0.5kg of fat per week, and it is not easy to cause adverse effects on the baby's growth and development.
