High-risk hvp positive

High-risk hvp positive

Among malignant tumors in women, cervical cancer and breast cancer have the highest incidence rates. HPV infection generally does not affect fertility, but most cervical cancers are caused by HPV infection. Therefore, when a woman finds that she has HPV infection, she needs to actively seek treatment to avoid the occurrence of cervical cancer. Today we will discuss the probability of high-risk HPV positive turning negative!

High-risk HPV positive type negative probability

It has been reported that the elimination time for low-risk HPV infection is about 8 months, and the elimination time for high-risk HPV infection is about 13 months. The negative conversion rate after one year of HPV infection is 80%, and the negative conversion rate after two years is 91%.

Only less than 10% of high-risk HPVs may manifest as persistent infection, which will gradually develop into precancerous lesions or even cervical cancer, and this usually takes 5 to 15 years.

From HPV infection, abnormalities in liquid-based cells to cervical precancerous lesions, there are corresponding solutions for each link. Moreover, at any stage of precancerous lesions, there is the possibility of self-improvement.

How is high-risk HPV infected

1. Infection during sexual intercourse

Generally, HPV infection during a single sexual encounter may develop into genital warts in about 4 weeks to 8 months, but some infections may remain dormant and develop into warts or cervical lesions two years or even decades later. Therefore, it is impossible to accurately determine the time of HPV infection.

When one party has HPV infection, the couple may be infected with a different type of HPV at the same time. Using condoms during sexual intercourse can reduce exposure to viral infection and speed up the elimination of HPV. When the HPV viral load is reduced, the body's own immune system can clear the virus more effectively.

Oral sex is also a way for HPV to be spread. However, studies have found that a quarter of the squamous epithelium in the head and neck contains high-risk HPV, so although HPV transmission through oral sex exists, it rarely causes serious symptoms.

2. Infection through other means

In addition to sexual intercourse, some indirect contact, such as using toilet seats, door handles, soaps, swimming pools, and bathtubs, can also cause the spread of HPV. Therefore, its spread is multi-faceted, even deeply embedded in daily life.

HPV6 and 11 can infect newborns during natural delivery and cause warts in the respiratory tract or abdomen, but this rarely happens and cesarean section can reduce this risk. If genital warts have been healed for more than 6 months, the possibility of HPV infection during natural childbirth is even lower.

According to the above detailed introduction by the editor about the probability of high-risk HPV positive turning negative and how high-risk HPV is infected, everyone has a certain understanding of high-risk HPV. In daily life, we need to pay attention to hygiene, especially hygiene during menstruation, hygiene before and after intercourse, etc. If an intrauterine contraceptive ring is used during intercourse, the probability of HPV infection can be reduced.
