What causes anal pain during menstruation?

I found that many sisters not only have menstrual pain during their menstrual period, but also often have a feeling of anal distension, which is the feeling of always wanting to defecate. I don't know if I feel the same way. Is this feeling of anal swelling caused by adenomyosis? Or is it caused by gastrointestinal problems?

Why do I feel anal swelling during menstruation?

In clinical medicine, the cause of this condition is generally due to compression of adenomyosis.

Because when suffering from adenomyosis, adenomyosis disease is mostly common in the posterior wall, which happens to be the neighbor of the duodenum. So when the uterus enlarges, the disease will swell and expand during menstruation, irritating the duodenum, and then the medical term "rectal prolapse" appeared. The so-called "anal prolapse" means that you always feel like you want to defecate, but you can't, which is very painful.

Why do I feel this way after my period?

Many patients with severe adenomyosis not only have a feeling of anal distension during menstruation, but also continue to have this condition after the menstrual period. Many people think that there are problems with the duodenum, anus or intestines, so some patients undergo colonoscopy, anoscopy and other examinations, but sometimes no problems are found.

Patients with long-lasting (after menstruation) usually have adhesions between the uterus and duodenum. Some of them stick together and become integrated. The stronger and tighter they stick, the greater the gastrointestinal reaction will be. Some patients are worried about developing colorectal cancer, so they undergo repeated examinations.

How to determine whether it is caused by gastrointestinal problems?

If there is no blood in the feces discharged normally (including during menstrual period or non-menstrual period), it is unlikely to be an intestinal problem. It is usually caused by the compression of the uterus.

Of course, if there is blood in the stool or blood stains on the surface of the stool during or before the menstrual period, you should be careful at this time. In addition to eliminating hemorrhoids, it is indeed a gastrointestinal problem.

There are several types of gastrointestinal problems:

1. Enteritis: The intestines are inflamed, which is generally not a big problem.

2. Gastrointestinal tumors: This is more worrying because blood in the stomach and intestines may be cancer, which can be detected through fiber optic colonoscopy.

3. Endometriosis in the stomach and intestines: Become a patient with adenomyosis with this condition.

There are two types of intestinal diseases:

One is outside the intestine, which is very easy to solve. There is also a type that grows in the intestines.

When the disease is outside, there is no blood. However, when the disease grows inside, there is blood and stomach pain. This is because the blood will irritate the stomach and intestines, causing a feeling of discomfort. At this time, it is easier to confuse it with a malignant tumor.

If such a thing is seen during a chemical fiber colonoscopy, it is unclear whether it is a tumor, whether it is benign or malignant, or endometriosis, etc. At this time, a puncture biopsy can be done, and the clear distinction can be made after the test.

How to treat it?

If you suffer from endometriosis and adenomyosis or chocolate cysts at the same time, uterine-preserving surgery can be done at the same time. No separate surgery is required.
