Does body temperature rise during menstruation?

The problem of temperature changes during menstruation is that the uterus and ovaries metabolize growth hormones, mainly estrogen and progesterone, in addition to ovulation. Before ovulation, the growth and development of the egg is the key factor, and the metabolism of female hormones is the key factor at this time. The body temperature is affected by the metabolism of these hormones, which will cause more changes in women. For example, will the body temperature rise during menstruation?

Women's body temperature is not likely to rise during menstruation, but will decrease instead. Women's menstrual cycle can be divided into the physiological phase, the proliferative phase and the metabolic phase. Generally, the ovulation period of the uterus and ovaries occurs 14 days before the next menarche. The body temperature before ovulation is lower than the normal body temperature. During ovulation, the human body temperature continues to drop by 0.1℃-0.2℃. After ovulation, the estrogen level begins to rise. Estrogen can stimulate the immune nerve center, raising the woman's basic body temperature by 0.3℃-0.5℃. Because it is the follicular phase, which is the metabolic phase, the human body temperature will rise, rather than the physiological period, so the human body temperature is not easy to rise during menstruation.

After ovulation, the egg produces progesterone, which produces two hormones, estrogen and oestrogen. Estrogen can stimulate the body's temperature nerve center and slightly increase body temperature. A normal woman's body temperature may rise by 0.3-0.5 degrees Celsius after ovulation. We can measure changes in body temperature by checking normal body temperature. This method is to record the measured body temperature on a basal thermometer when you wake up after sleeping for more than 6-15 hours and before doing any activities. Take your temperature daily.

The normal curve is slightly lower before ovulation and the lowest during ovulation; after ovulation, due to the thermogenic effect of estrogen, the body temperature is higher than that in the follicular phase. Therefore, the normal curve is biphasic. The anovulatory menstrual cycle lacks estrogen and there is no such periodic change, and the body temperature is consistently monophasic.
