Will the vagina become loose after giving birth?

The incidence of pelvic function problems in women preparing to become pregnant is only 1%-38%, but after giving birth the incidence continues to rise to between 49%-83%. Even for first-time mothers, the incidence of pelvic nerve problems after giving birth reaches 70.6%. Therefore, childbirth has a significant impact on women's pelvic function.

Experts point out that regardless of whether it is a caesarean section or a natural birth, pregnancy itself is a kind of damage to the female pelvis, the only difference is the amount and degree. In addition, frequent sexual intercourse can also lead to vaginal relaxation, and as women age, the body's female hormones decrease, the vagina will naturally become loose.

Why does pregnancy and childbirth cause vaginal relaxation?

When a woman is pregnant, as the fetus grows, the weight of the uterus continues to increase, and the lower part of the female pelvis is compressed for a long time. The pelvic floor muscles are deformed after being stressed, and the muscle strength will gradually decrease. In addition, during childbirth, the female body also releases relaxation hormone to help the birth canal expand, which can also cause pelvic instability, shoulder dislocation, etc. The pelvic tissue, bladder neck and urethral opening also suffer varying degrees of damage due to childbirth. This is the real reason why women's vaginal relaxation is caused by pregnancy. Therefore, this problem cannot be avoided by choosing a cesarean section.

Do not underestimate the problem of pelvic function problems. If they are not treated in time, they may be accompanied by complications such as uterine prolapse, bladder and urethral protrusion, incomplete closure of the internal dilatation, and urinary incontinence. Therefore, pregnant women can do a pelvic function test after giving birth. If vaginal relaxation is severe, go to the hospital for treatment in time to avoid other complications.
