The difference between suppositories and oxytocin hanging

When an expectant mother enters the delivery stage, but the fetus is delayed and there is no sound, it is necessary to take necessary measures to induce labor, because not giving birth after the due date will have adverse effects on the health of the fetus and the expectant mother. Some people use suppositories to induce labor, while others use oxytocin to promote the contraction of the uterus.

The difference between suppositories and oxytocin:

That is to say, the routes of administration are different, and the digestion and absorption rates of therapeutic drugs are different. In clinical medicine, due to factors related to the fetus or the mother, it is necessary to use artificial control methods to induce frequent uterine contractions to achieve the purpose of terminating the pregnancy. This situation can be treated with suppositories or oxytocin.

Suppositories commonly used in clinical medicine include dinoprostol suppositories or misoprostol, etc. The therapeutic drugs need to be placed in the posterior fornix of the vagina. However, for pregnant women with immature cervical conditions, the effect of promoting cervical perfection is better than oxytocin. In other words, the uterine contractions caused by drugs such as dinoprostol suppositories will be more intense. Oxytocin is relatively more relieving and is suitable for pregnant women whose cervix is mature.

How long does it take to give birth after taking oxytocin?

When pregnant women are past their due date or have some other conditions, they need to adopt induction of labor and use oxytocin to assist in childbirth. There is no completely standard reference time for how long it will take to give birth after the actual use. This is because the personal conditions of each pregnant woman are different, as well as the sensitivity to treatment drugs and the degree of cervical perfection are different, and the time of delivery also varies greatly. Therefore, some expectant mothers do not need to be overly anxious if there is no sound temporarily after using oxytocin. The chief physician will take necessary solutions according to the specific situation.

Generally, most pregnant women may give birth within 24 hours after the use of induction, and sometimes it may exceed 24 hours. It is also mentioned that some pregnant women are extremely insensitive to therapeutic drugs and may not hear the sound of delivery within three to two days.

Tips to get your baby started:

1. Stroll

Walking can help the fetus lower into the pelvis, relax the pelvic cruciate ligament, and prepare for delivery. At this time, you can accompany your pregnant mother to relax more, divided into 2 times a day, morning, noon and evening, each time for 20 minutes.

2. Stair climbing

Many doctors recommend that pregnant women who have already passed their due date but have not yet given birth should climb stairs more often. Yes, this can exercise her thigh and buttocks muscle groups, and help the fetal head enter the pelvis, so that the first stage of labor can come as soon as possible. Many pregnant mothers start to give birth after climbing the stairs. As for how many floors to climb, it should be arranged scientifically according to the physical condition of the pregnant mother herself, and she should not be too tired.
