The pros and cons of female circumcision

The use of an IUD is a contraceptive measure, and it is also a relatively safe method with fewer side effects. Compared with taking contraceptive pills, the use of an IUD is simpler, more effective, and has fewer side effects. Therefore, nowadays women often use this method for contraception. However, after the IUD is inserted, women's bodies will also be affected to a certain extent. Some women will experience bleeding or infection after the IUD is inserted, and this condition is also the most likely to occur after the IUD is inserted.

Benefits of having a female circumcision

1. Reasonable contraceptive measures

The IUD is a very good choice for couples who want to take contraceptive measures. Once inserted, it can be used continuously for more than 5 years, or even longer. In fact, placing an IUD in the uterine cavity generally has no side effects for most people.

2. Do not suppress ovulation

The IUD does not affect the female endocrine system, thus preventing the side effects of general contraceptive drugs. It does not cause any serious harm to the human body and can be used for long-term contraception.

3. Does not affect women’s reproductive function

If you want to have a baby again after inserting the IUD, you just need to remove the ring, and it will not cause any impact on your body. However, taking emergency contraception may affect fertility in the long run.

4. Does not affect the couple's life

Many people like to wear condoms when having sex, but they don't have that high sexual desire, and it's also very inconvenient, which seriously affects the daily life of the couple. The insertion of the IUD does not have a big impact on sexual intercourse. After a period of time after the insertion of the IUD, the couple can continue their sexual life as usual.

5. Surgical treatment is simple and has few side effects

Some people may experience discomfort such as back pain, lower abdominal discomfort, excessive vaginal discharge, prolonged menstruation, and increased menstrual flow in the early stages of IUD insertion, but these symptoms will disappear on their own over time.

Disadvantages of female circumcision

1. Infection

This situation mainly occurs during and after the insertion of the IUD. Because the uterine wall is more sensitive, if bacteria or viruses are brought into the uterine cavity when the IUD is inserted, it may cause infection and side effects.

2. Increased menstrual flow

This type of side effect mainly occurs in the first three months after the IUD is inserted. Due to the drastic changes in the body's balance, women's menstrual cycles may be delayed or irregular spotting may occur.

3. Excessive leucorrhea

If a contraceptive ring containing a tail thread is used, it can cause a significant increase in cervical secretions.

4. Bleeding

Because the IUD can scratch the cervical canal lining while stimulating uterine contractions and cause bleeding.

5. The uterine wall is compressed

The IUD can cause compression on the uterine wall. If the uterine wall is not suitable, local hematoma, edema, and even ulcer bleeding may occur.

6. Lower abdominal pain or backache

After the IUD is inserted, it is very easy to cause frequent uterine contractions, which can cause mild lower abdominal pain or back pain.

7. Cause discomfort to men

This situation mainly occurs when the tail thread of the common contraceptive ring is too tight or too long. Such conditions can cause pain during intercourse in men, or even puncture wounds.
