Six months pregnant, the fetus is not moving much

As we all know, in the second trimester of pregnancy, there will be obvious fetal movements. However, the specific situation of each fetus is different. Just like each person's temperament, the fetal movement of the fetus will also be different. Some fetuses like to move, while others are not very active. So is it normal for the fetus not to move at six months of pregnancy?

Is it normal for the fetus to be immobile at six months of pregnancy?

The fetal movements during the sixth month of pregnancy vary from person to person. The baby's fetal movement has a certain regularity, which shows that the baby depends on the alternation of falling asleep and waking in the uterine cavity. Generally, the baby moves at least in the morning and 6-10 times at night. According to observations, normal and obvious fetal movements should be no less than 3-5 times per hour, 30-40 times in 12 hours, and up to 100 times or more, which are all manifestations of good fetal condition. Generally speaking, most pregnant women feel the baby's movements during the 4th and 5th months of pregnancy, and then the movements gradually increase. The 28th to 38th week of pregnancy is the stage when the baby's fetal movements are more active; as the fetal head descends to the pelvis, the frequency of fetal movements gradually decreases, which is normal.

Measuring the baby's fetal movement is something that every pregnant woman must do. In the second and third trimesters of pregnancy, insisting on recording the number of fetal movements every day will not only help improve the relationship between mother and fetus, but also help monitor the physical condition of the fetus in the uterus. It has been found that a few weeks to a week before the death of the fetus, there is usually a decrease in fetal movement, and then the fetal movement disappears. The decrease in fetal movement and then cessation is an emergency signal that the fetus is in severe suffocation and is about to die in the uterus. If the pregnant woman can handle the abnormal fetal movement in time, she should go to the hospital for treatment as soon as possible and adopt a caesarean section, which can usually save the fetus.

When does fetal movement usually occur?

1. Before going to bed at night

Generally, babies move the most at night. On the one hand, they are more energetic, and on the other hand, pregnant mothers can usually calm down and feel the baby's fetal movements at this time, so they will feel that they move a lot.

2. After meals

After a meal, the mother's blood sugar level increases, and the baby is also "full" and strong, so the baby's fetal movements will become more frequent than before a meal.

3. When taking a bath

It may be because pregnant mothers feel more relaxed when taking a bath, and this mood will be passed on to the baby, making him more energetic.

4. When speaking to the abdomen

Both expectant fathers and mothers said that when they communicate with their babies, the babies will respond and express their feelings in the form of fetal movements.

5. When listening to music

Under the stimulation of music, the fetus will become more and more fond of movement, which is also a way to convey emotions.
