So, is insomnia a sign of pregnancy?

Pregnancy often brings about many physiological changes and discomforts, one of the most annoying problems is insomnia. Doctors recommend that pregnant mothers go to bed before 10 o'clock every day and sleep for 8-9 hours. It is important to note that many pregnant mothers cannot fall asleep peacefully.

Some pregnant women may experience insomnia in daily life, but insomnia is not necessarily a sign of pregnancy. There are many reasons for insomnia in pregnant women, including psychological pressure from pregnancy, depression in early pregnancy, and physiological frequent urination, urgency, discomfort, etc., all of which may cause insomnia.

The occurrence of symptoms such as insomnia is closely related to the changes in growth hormone. During pregnancy, the key hormones that affect the body are estrogen and oestrogen, which can cause pregnant mothers' moods to fluctuate greatly and reduce their tolerance to stress. In addition, changes in dietary structure will also affect the quality of sleep during pregnancy.

For pregnant mothers who suffer from insomnia during pregnancy, they should develop a good habit of getting up early and going to bed early, properly arrange work and study time, pay attention to scientific mental work, and do mentally demanding work during the day as much as possible, while small mental work or work that does not require the brain can be done at night. It is necessary to maintain a quiet sleeping environment. A quiet, clean and comfortable environment is conducive to falling asleep.
