Is nipple pain a sign of impending menstruation?

It may just be that your period is delayed and should be coming soon. Nipple pain should be a sign that the menstrual period is about to come. Don't worry, just observe for a few days. During the menstrual period, due to the problem of hormone secretion, the breasts will swell and ache, which is not a big deal. Fatigue, mood, gynecological inflammation, medications, and endocrine changes can all cause irregular menstruation.

What causes nipple pain?

1. Breast pain in the early stages of menstruation: Many women experience breast swelling, hardness, and tenderness before their menarche. In severe cases, the breasts will swell and ache immediately upon slight vibration or impact. This is due to the increase in estrogen levels in the body before menstruation, breast hyperplasia, and edema of breast tissue. After menarche, the transformation may resolve.

2. Breast pain during pregnancy: Some women experience breast pain during the 40 days of pregnancy because the embryo and hair secrete a large amount of female hormones, estrogen and prolactin, which causes the mammary glands to enlarge and the pain can last throughout the pregnancy and no treatment is needed.

3. Breast pain after giving birth: Breast distension, lumps and pain often occur 3 to 7 days after giving birth. This is mainly due to mammary lymph node retention, venous blood flow and interstitial edema and blocked mammary gland tubes.

I believe many female friends have had this experience with nipple pain. However, when pain occurs, you should not mistake it for nipple pain or the coming of menstruation. Because there are too many factors that can cause nipple pain, we must look at it objectively. If the pain persists for a long time, you need to go to the hospital for a detailed examination to avoid missing the best time for treatment.
