Is it normal for a pregnant woman to leak urine when sneezing?

The body structure of pregnant women is very different from that of ordinary women. Due to the influence of the fetus in the belly, pregnant women may also experience many symptoms different from those of ordinary people, such as nausea, retching, fatigue and constant desire to sleep. Some pregnant women also experience urinary incontinence as their pregnancy progresses. Is it normal for pregnant women to have urinary incontinence?

The uterus of a pregnant woman is getting bigger day by day, and the bladder will be compressed by the continuously growing uterus. When sneezing, the abdominal pressure increases, and the force of the bladder being compressed will be greater, which causes urinary incontinence in pregnant women. Therefore, it is normal for pregnant women to sneeze and leak urine. Most pregnant women may experience such symptoms. Pregnant women do not need to worry too much. Just change your pants in time and keep your private parts comfortable.

However, what leaks out when some pregnant women sneeze is not urine, but amniotic fluid. If the amniotic membrane of a pregnant woman is torn and the tear is not large and the outflow of amniotic fluid is not obvious, it will be difficult for the pregnant woman to detect it. However, when sneezing, the abdominal pressure will squeeze the amniotic membrane, causing the amniotic fluid of the pregnant woman to leak out. In this case, pregnant women need to be alert and should seek medical attention for prenatal check-up immediately.

If the pregnant woman cannot distinguish whether what she leaks is amniotic fluid or urine, then for safety reasons, it is recommended that she see a doctor to test the leaked fluid, so that she can more accurately check whether the amniotic membrane is ruptured.

When going out, in order to avoid sneezing and leaking urine, it is best to wear sanitary napkins or menstrual pads at all times and use sanitary napkins in advance, but be sure to change them in time, preferably once an hour, otherwise it is easy to generate bacteria. Don't use sanitary napkins at home, it is very unhygienic
