hcg value and gestational age comparison table

The hormones in a woman's body will change after she becomes pregnant. In the early stages of pregnancy, the woman's pregnancy status can be determined by testing blood pressure or HCG in urine. If the embryo does not develop well or there are signs of miscarriage, HCG will also change. What is the comparison table between hcg value and gestational week? Usually, the HCG value increases exponentially with the duration of pregnancy. Let's take a look at the detailed introduction together.

On the 6th day after fertilization, the trophoblast of the fertilized egg is formed and secretes trace amounts of HCG. When the fertilized egg implants on the 7th to 8th day after fertilization, HCG can be detected in the blood, and its concentration increases exponentially with the increase in gestational age. Its amount is proportional to the number of trophoblasts. The secretion increases rapidly in early pregnancy, reaches a peak at 8-10 weeks of pregnancy, and then rapidly decreases to 10% of the peak value within 1-2 weeks. Therefore, it is difficult to judge threatened abortion or ectopic pregnancy based on the results of a single HCG test.

During normal pregnancy, the serum HCG value is directly related to the gestational age. The HCG (IU/L) value will certainly be different at different gestational ages, and will show a positive increasing trend. For example, 0.2-1 week of pregnancy, the HCG value is 5-50; 1-2 weeks of pregnancy, the HCG value is 50-500; 2-3 weeks of pregnancy, the HCG value is 100-5000; 3-4 weeks of pregnancy, the HCG value is 500-10000; 4-5 weeks of pregnancy, the HCG value is 1000-50000; 5-6 weeks of pregnancy, the HCG value is 10000-100000; 6-8 weeks of pregnancy, the HCG value is 15000-200000; 2-3 months of pregnancy, the HCG value is 10000-100000.

Progesterone levels are related to the outcome of early pregnancy. The serum progesterone levels of women with embryonic arrest and ectopic pregnancy are significantly lower than those of women with threatened abortion and normal early pregnancy. When progesterone is between 15 and 25 ng/mL, the pregnancy outcome is basically intrauterine pregnancy, but early threatened abortion is prone to occur. If the progesterone level is less than 15 ng/mL, the pregnancy outcome is often ectopic pregnancy or missed abortion. When progesterone is greater than 25ng/mL, the pregnancy outcome is mostly normal intrauterine pregnancy, and some have threatened abortion. Generally, after supplementing luteal function, the pregnancy can continue.
