Standard size of gestational sac after 28 days of transplantation

In some infertility cases, conventional treatments cannot lead to successful pregnancy. In this case, embryo transfer can be used to achieve pregnancy. Embryo transfer is the same as normal pregnancy. A gestational sac will form first and then gradually develop into a fetus. The development of the gestational sac has become the most concerning thing. So, what is the standard size of the gestational sac after 28 days of transplantation? Let’s take a look below.

For the transplantation of the gestational sac, if it is only 28 days old, it is actually very small, generally 0.2 cm, and you have to be very careful during the examination to observe it. Because at this time fertilization has just been completed, and it will take some time for differentiation to occur, so there will generally be no signs of this during examinations.

Some mothers want to know the gender of their baby, so when they hear that the gestational sac can be used to determine the gender of the baby, they will be eager to check the gestational sac during the 28-day checkup. In fact, the gestational sac has no role in determining the gender, and there is no basis for using the gestational sac to determine the gender. What's more, the gestational sac at this time is only the size of a grain of rice, and in fact, nothing can be seen.

Post-transplant precautions

1. Keep a happy mood on the transplant day. Before the transplant, the bladder needs to be moderately filled (in layman's terms, moderate urinary distension). A slight urge to urinate is enough, and there is no need to urinate urgently.

2. What should I do if I feel the urge to urinate after the transplant? Don’t worry, the embryo will not be excreted with urine because it has already “stuck” to the endometrium after being transplanted.

3. There is no need to stay in bed to rest after the transplant, you can leave immediately, but in order to make the patient feel more relaxed, you can leave after a short rest. In our Angel Reproductive Department, the longest rest time is 30 minutes.

4. Live a normal life after transplantation, do not run or jump deliberately; if you feel tired, rest more; there is no need to stay in bed all the time, as staying in bed for a long time can cause poor pelvic blood flow, which is not conducive to implantation. It is recommended to avoid mental stress and work stress after embryo transfer; it is recommended not to go to work, rest at home for 5 to 7 days, and abstain from sexual intercourse.

5. Take medicine on time. If you feel uncomfortable after taking the medicine, go to the hospital in time to adjust the medication. Never stop taking the medicine without authorization.

6. Family members should care about the patient, but not pay too much attention. They should not ask questions at any time, such as frequently asking "How do you feel about your stomach?" Such questions will increase the patient's tension. Tension will lead to an increase in "tensin", affecting uterine blood flow and even causing uterine contractions, making it difficult for the embryo to implant.

7. If you experience abdominal distension, abdominal pain, a menstrual-like feeling in the lower abdomen, vaginal bleeding, or other discomfort, please go to the hospital at any time. You can go to the obstetric emergency department for treatment at night. If you can contact the attending physician, try to communicate with him/her and get treatment guidance.

8. In rare cases, a small amount of vaginal bloody discharge may appear 7 to 10 days after embryo transfer. As long as there is no abdominal pain, don't be too nervous and go to the hospital as soon as possible. It may be "implantation bleeding" or it may be an abnormal situation.
