Girls' bone age closure timeline

Girls' bone age closure timeline

Girls all want to have a tall figure, so they usually pay special attention to exercise and nutrition, hoping to grow tall. Generally speaking, after a woman reaches her first menstruation, her height growth rate will slow down, or even stop at all. This can cause great psychological harm to shorter girls. Today, let’s learn about the timeline for bone age closure in girls. I hope that girls can use some appropriate methods to make themselves taller before their bone age closes.

Girls' bone age closure timeline

The age at which girls' bone age closes is generally around 16 years old. Although they theoretically reach adulthood at the age of 18, females generally develop one or two years earlier than males. To see whether the epiphyseal line has completely closed, you can consider taking an X-ray of the knee joint and other parts of the body, which can basically determine whether the epiphyseal line has closed. If the epiphyseal line has closed, then theoretically there is no obvious room for height development. In daily life, you should pay attention to not staying up late, and do more appropriate exercise such as running, basketball, etc., which is beneficial to physical development.

How to grow taller

1. Warm up: Keep your body upright, then lean forward, stretch your arms and swing them backward and upward with force.

2. Walking: Swing your arms with a wide range of motion and move forward forcefully.

3. Running: Start by running in small steps while placing your hands on your shoulders and turning your arms forward with your elbows bent. Then quickly run and jump 25-50 meters. Repeat 4-6 times, taking a short break between each time.

4. Stretching: Stand on tiptoe, stretch your arms upward, and then stretch in all directions. Repeat 6-8 times, taking short breaks in between.

5. Hanging: Hang on the horizontal bar (20 seconds to 1 minute) with your legs together. First turn the body to the left and right, then swing forward and backward, and finally do pull-ups (girls can do this exercise with their feet on the ground). Do it for 4-6 minutes each time, and repeat each movement 6-8 times. Another method is to keep your upper body upright, squat, then grab the horizontal bar while jumping up, and use inertia to do pull-ups (the height of the horizontal bar and the distance between your hands should be determined according to your individual situation), and repeat several times.

6. Jumping: Jump upwards, trying to jump higher each time than the previous one, or strive to reach a certain specified height. Jump down from a slightly higher place, bend your legs as much as possible when landing, then push the ground with your feet, and then jump up. Do this 30-60 times each.

Height increase precautions

1. Do warm-up exercises carefully to prevent injuries. Proceed step by step. You can choose to practice some of the exercises first, and then do the whole set of exercises after a period of time. From the very beginning, you should pay attention to performing the required number of movements. Don't do whatever you want. After each exercise, you should take a short break to steady your breathing and fully relax your limbs. After completing the entire set of exercises, lie flat on the floor, tighten your back and buttocks muscles, and slightly straighten your waist. Do exercises at least 3 times a week, 35-45 minutes each time, and you will see good results if you persist.

2. Half of your height is due to certain genetic factors, and of course the other half is due to acquired efforts.

Generally speaking, girls will still grow taller after menstruation. Bone pain, knee pain, and dizziness may be signs of growth, and exercise can help them grow taller.
