High-risk 51 positive

High-risk 51 positive

High-risk type 51 is HPV high-risk type 51. HPV stands for human papillomavirus. The most common diseases caused by HPV infection are genital warts and cervical cancer. However, there are many types of HPV, and a positive test result does not necessarily mean that you have these two diseases. There are many possibilities. So, what is the high-risk type 51 positive result? Let’s take a look below.

HPV, or human papillomavirus, is divided into high-risk and low-risk types. The low-risk type may cause warts, while the high-risk type infection is related to the occurrence of cervical cancer.

Only with persistent high-risk infection can cervical cancer develop, but this process takes 8-13 years. If the cervical TVT examination is normal, regular HPV and TCT checks are sufficient, because after HPV infection, 80-90% will turn negative within 1-2 years.

Does a positive HPV51 result mean I have cancer?

First of all, HPV51 positivity does not necessarily mean cancer, it just has the potential to induce cancer. If you want to confirm whether it is cancer, it is very simple. You just need to do a further cervical smear test. However, for most women, being infected with HPV51 is very normal, and the chance of inducing cancer is very small. How small is it? It's like a normal person buying a lottery ticket. As long as he buys it, there is a chance that he will win the jackpot. The chance of HPV51 positivity developing into cancer is as small as winning the lottery. So even if the HPV51 test result is positive, don't worry too much. As long as you follow the doctor's instructions and receive targeted treatment in a timely manner, the HPV51 positive virus can be turned negative.

Secondly, the main cause of HPV51 positivity is still related to female cervical lesions. If a woman has had unclean sexual life, a history of abortion, or has gynecological diseases such as cervicitis and cervical erosion, the chance of being infected with HPV51 will be higher. There are many treatments for HPV51 positivity, the main one being drug treatment, such as topical cervical suppositories and oral interferon, both of which can treat HPV51 positivity. HPV patients should go to the hospital for re-examination in time after a period of treatment. If the re-examination shows no problems, or the virus has turned negative, it means that the HPV51 positive has been completely cured.
