Discharge from nipple during pregnancy

Discharge from nipple during pregnancy

When a pregnant mother thinks about her pregnancy, she will be very careful in everything she does, for fear of causing harm to her baby. When you find some abnormalities in your body, you will be particularly worried about whether your condition will affect the development of the fetus. It is common to have secretions in the nipple gap during pregnancy. Pregnant mothers do not need to worry too much. As long as they pay attention to prenatal examinations, diet, care, etc., there are generally no major problems.

What is the cause of discharge from the nipple gap during pregnancy?

First, white particles on the nipples of pregnant women may be Montessori nodules. After a woman becomes pregnant, she will develop Montessori nodes due to rapid changes. This is caused by endocrine changes. At this time, the breasts will enlarge and feel swollen around the areola due to the effect of pregnancy hormone levels. The color of the areola will become darker, and small nodules about the size of soybeans or mung beans will grow on the nipples. These are all normal physiological changes during pregnancy. Even a small number of people will secrete a small amount of milk in the middle or late stages of pregnancy, which is also normal. It is recommended to clean the nipples frequently, but not over-stimulate them. Use vegetable oils, such as olive oil, sesame oil, soybean oil, or mineral oils, such as paraffin oil, to apply to the nipples to soften the scale and scabs on the surface of the nipples, and then wash them with soap and hot water.

Second, white particles on pregnant women’s nipples may be excess milk. Because a small number of mothers will secrete a small amount of milk in the middle or late stages of pregnancy. If the pregnant woman's milk is not completely emptied and the milk in the breast is not discharged in time, it will cause the milk to accumulate and dry up to form white particles. Moreover, if a pregnant woman's milk ducts are blocked, the ducts themselves are inflamed, tumors and external pressure are present, or fibers from a bra fall off and block the ducts, the milk ducts may become blocked and milk may accumulate to form white particles.

What to do if there is discharge between the nipples during pregnancy

During pregnancy, you should massage your breasts properly to prevent breast hyperplasia. This experience is scientifically based. This is because during pregnancy, the expectant mother's breasts will grow larger and larger due to increased hormone secretion. Even some fluid may be secreted. This is also a very normal phenomenon.

Breast tenderness is one of the earliest signs of pregnancy. Generally speaking, it starts around 4 to 6 weeks and this feeling of tenderness will continue throughout the early stages of pregnancy. When the pregnancy reaches about 3 months, the breasts of some pregnant mothers have begun to grow larger. In addition to slight pain, some secretions may occasionally appear. This is due to the development of mammary glands and increased hormone secretion. During the fourth month of pregnancy, a small amount of sebum secretions will overflow from the nipples and areolas. The accumulation of secretions can easily cause bacterial growth and irritate the skin, so expectant mothers should scrub them frequently with warm water.

The changes in the breasts during pregnancy are preparations for future milk secretion, so expectant mothers do not need to be too nervous. If your breasts are really painful and swollen, you can massage your breasts appropriately to relieve the pain. From this, it can be seen that there are many reasons for secretions in the nipple gap during pregnancy. In this regard, mothers should protect their breasts well, choose suitable bras, wash their underwear frequently, and pay attention to personal hygiene. The most important thing is to eat a healthy, green and nutritious diet. Do not eat too much spicy food, high-calorie food, or heavy-tasting food.
