What to do about bedwetting after childbirth

Postpartum bedwetting is a relatively common physical condition in women, and is more common in women who give birth naturally. This is because the fetus passes through the woman's pelvis and vagina during delivery, causing damage to the pelvic floor muscles, which can easily lead to postpartum urinary incontinence, etc. It needs to be repaired in time, and some postpartum repair exercises can be done.

What to do about bed-wetting after childbirth?

Postpartum bed-wetting is more common after a normal birth, that is, after a vaginal delivery. Because of changes such as tearing or relaxation of the pelvic floor muscles, pelvic organ prolapse may occur, such as the downward movement of the bladder and urethra, which will cause a decrease in urethral closure pressure. Bedwetting may occur when the patient experiences increased abdominal pressure, such as coughing or abdominal straining. Postpartum rehabilitation exercises are needed. As the pelvic floor muscle function recovers, bedwetting can be improved. It is recommended to follow the guidance of an obstetrician to conduct pelvic floor muscle rehabilitation training, avoid excessive abdominal force, and prevent causes such as constipation.

Patients with severe bed-wetting can be given drug treatment when necessary. If there are no contraindications, they can take 2 mg of tolterodine tartrate tablets orally twice a day for one week to observe whether the bed-wetting improves, or take 5 mg of solifenacin succinate tablets orally once a day to observe whether the symptoms improve.

Postpartum urinary incontinence is a common disease among women. When a woman is giving birth, the muscles of the fetus passing through the birth canal are strained, causing the pelvis to relax and atrophy. The normal function of the vagina cannot be performed, so urine will leak out when sneezing or laughing, which is what we often call postpartum bed-wetting.

For women with urinary incontinence, it is necessary to adjust their bodies in time. Generally speaking, the younger the age at which the condition occurs, the easier it is to recover. Some anal lifting exercises after childbirth can relieve urinary incontinence. Persistent exercise can help you heal yourself or allow your body to recover as soon as possible. For women, postpartum urinary incontinence usually takes about 3 months for the body to recover.

In fact, postpartum urinary incontinence can be prevented by doing a good job. You should pay attention to health care before delivery, handle delivery correctly, and cooperate with doctors to repair it in time. After delivery, you should do health exercises and more physical exercise to repair the pelvic floor tissue as soon as possible. If necessary, you can also choose surgery for treatment.
