Endometriosis can become cancerous

Endometriosis is a very common gynecological disease because the uterus is a very important organ for women and this part may become cancerous. Therefore, after being diagnosed with endometriosis, many women are very worried that it may turn into cancer because they do not understand the disease. They ask questions like, "Will endometriosis turn into cancer?" Let's take a comprehensive look at the specific situation below.

Can endometriosis become cancerous?

There are three clinical types of endometriosis, which are mainly classified according to the location of the lesion. One is chocolate cyst, one is adenomyosis, and the other is deep nodules formed in other parts of the pelvic cavity. The canceration situations of these three situations are also different. Adenomyosis will not become cancerous, and the probability of chocolate cyst becoming cancerous is only 0.5%. The nodular type has a lower chance of becoming cancerous, so don't worry too much.

Although endometriosis will not turn into cancer, it can still cause great pain to patients. People with endometriosis will experience dysmenorrhea and persistent abdominal pain, which is severe and very painful, as well as menstrual disorders and infertility. The probability of infertility in normal women is 15%, while that of patients with endometriosis is as high as 40%.

Endometriosis hazards

1. Cause ectopic pregnancy. Endometriosis often causes ectopic pregnancy in women. Due to the adhesion of the female body's uterine cavity, it is particularly easy to cause the movement of sperm in the fallopian tube to be blocked. The fertilized egg will develop locally in the fallopian tube, which will cause ectopic pregnancy. The occurrence of ectopic pregnancy will cause women to have abdominal pain and signs of heavy bleeding, and even shock, which seriously endangers the life safety of female patients. Therefore, female friends must pay special attention to it in normal times, and take safe contraceptive measures before they are fully recovered to avoid the formation of ectopic pregnancy in the human body.

2. Affects female conception. Endometriosis can affect female conception. Clinically, about 25% of female infertility is closely related to endometriosis. Due to the insufficient function of progesterone in women's bodies, the chance of female conception will be significantly reduced. In addition, the patient's own decreased immunity will interfere with the delivery of fertilized eggs, and finally cause infertility.

3. Cause endometritis. Endometriosis often causes endometritis in women. If the normal endometrium is affected by endometriosis, it may cause a large number of inflammatory factors in the local tissue. Once the female body's immunity decreases, symptoms of local pain and even increased vaginal discharge will appear. Patients are reminded to seek timely treatment.
