The body temperature rises during menstruation

For a normal woman, the body will experience ovulation, menstruation and safe period in a month, and there will be great differences in body temperature and hormone secretion during these three periods. Normally, women's bodies are very fragile during menstruation, so the body temperature during this period will be significantly lower than other periods. But why do some women's body temperatures rise during menstruation?

Does body temperature rise before menstruation?

The female menstrual cycle is divided into the menstrual phase, the proliferative phase and the secretory phase. Ovarian ovulation usually occurs 14 days before the next menstrual period. The basal body temperature is lower than normal before ovulation, and the body temperature continues to drop by 0.1-0.2℃ during ovulation. However, the progesterone level begins to rise after ovulation, and progesterone can excite the body temperature regulation center, causing the female basal body temperature to rise by 0.3-0.5℃. Therefore, it is the luteal phase, that is, the secretory phase, that causes the body temperature to rise, not the menstrual phase. The progesterone level is at a low limit during the menstrual phase, so if conception does not occur, the body temperature will drop to the level of the follicular phase.

How to take care of yourself before your period

Maintenance 1: Pay attention to keeping warm. The ability to resist cold decreases during menstruation, and catching cold can easily cause diseases, such as scanty or sudden cessation of menstruation. Therefore, you should avoid getting wet in the rain, wading in water, and washing your feet with cold water; eat less or no frozen food or drinks.

Maintenance 2: The diet is also suitable for eating more green onions, fungus, peanuts, walnuts, dates, longans, and roses during menstruation. If you accidentally eat cold food during your menstrual period, or can't help eating ice, you can drink more brown sugar boiled ginger to balance the blood circulation in your body and promote blood flow. Eat less spicy food and more vegetables and fruits.

Maintenance three: Proper labor and exercise. It is not appropriate to do excessive physical labor or participate in strenuous sports activities during menstruation, but appropriate physical labor and exercise are beneficial. Maintenance four: Mental maintenance. Always keep a happy spirit. Appropriate participation in cultural and sports activities can divert the irritability and depression that occur during menstruation. Don't be too squeamish. Pay attention to maintenance and act as if nothing is wrong.
