I haven't had my period for a month and I'm not pregnant. What's going on?

Under normal circumstances, a woman's menstrual cycle is about 28 to 30 days. However, some women may have delayed menstruation or even no menstruation due to physical reasons. If a woman does not have her period for a month, there are many factors to consider. If you rule out pregnancy, you have to be careful that it is caused by illness. So what's going on if you haven't had your period for a month and aren't pregnant?

1. A woman's menstrual cycle is generally about 30 days. It is normal for it to be advanced or delayed by about 7 days. However, if menstruation does not come after more than 7 days, it is called delayed menstruation. Psychological factors such as mental tension, stress, environmental changes, and some diseases that affect the endocrine system can all cause delayed menstruation. This situation often causes breast pain, irritability, depression and discomfort. Generally, no treatment is required, but sometimes menstruation is delayed and Chinese medicine can be taken for syndrome differentiation and conditioning.

2. If you haven't had your period for a month and you haven't been found to be pregnant after examination, it is mostly caused by endocrine disorders. For example, sudden changes in the environment, cold stimulation, or too much stress, work pressure, and staying up late may cause endocrine disorders and delay your period. In this case, don't be nervous. You can drink brown sugar water while it's hot. Drink it for 3 consecutive days to see if you will have your period. Remember to keep warm. If you have not had your period after drinking brown sugar water, it is recommended that you take progesterone orally, 2 capsules once a day, for 3 consecutive days. Your period will come 3-7 days after stopping the medication. Because progesterone capsules may cause dizziness, they should be taken before bedtime. If you haven't had your period on the 8th day after stopping the medication, be sure to go to the hospital for a check-up to rule out other diseases.

3. Menstruation is sometimes directly related to emotional environment and work pressure. If early pregnancy can be ruled out, it is best to do an ultrasound examination and six sex hormone tests to check the thickness of the endometrium and the hormone levels. You can take 10 mg of progesterone orally or intramuscularly at the same time every day for 5 consecutive days and then stop taking it. Menstruation usually occurs 3-7 days after stopping the medication. The amount of menstrual flow will be larger than before, but don't be too nervous, relax, it is caused by the medicine and no treatment is needed.
