Difference between left ovulation and right ovulation

Getting married and having children is every woman's dream. When a woman enters into marriage, she has the hope of getting pregnant and having a child. The ovaries are important reproductive organs of women. Every month or so, the two ovaries take turns to ovulate and secrete estrogen and progesterone. Many female friends do not know the difference between left ovulation and positive ovulation. Can the gender of the fetus be selected by ovulating the left or right ovary?

1. Is the gender of a baby related to the ovulation of the left or right ovary?

The answer is irrelevant.

To explore whether there is an intrinsic relationship between ovulation in the left and right ovaries and the sex of the fetus. Methods A total of 1981 patients who underwent ovulation monitoring and intercourse guidance in our hospital from 2010 to 2013 were reviewed, with a total of 2135 cycles, including 956 cycles of left-sided ovulation and 1179 cycles of right-sided ovulation. The pregnancy rate, delivery rate and sex ratio of newborns were compared between the two groups. Results: There were 139 pregnancies (pregnancy rate 14.54%) and 125 successful deliveries (69 boys and 56 girls) in the left ovulatory cycle, and 151 pregnancies (pregnancy rate 12.81%) and 141 successful deliveries (65 boys and 76 girls) in the right ovulatory cycle. There was no significant difference in pregnancy rate and delivery rate between the two groups (P>0.05), and there was no significant difference in the male to female ratio between the two groups (P>0.05). Conclusion The pregnancy rate, delivery rate and baby gender have nothing to do with which side of the ovary ovulates.

2. Male and female science students

The more scientific way to know the gender of the baby is through medical examination, but in our country, doctors are not allowed to disclose the gender of the fetus to couples. Specific examination methods include B-ultrasound examination, amniocentesis, chorionic villus sampling, DNA blood testing, etc.

1. Method 1 for checking whether the baby is a boy or a girl: B-ultrasound

B-ultrasound examination can not only locate the placenta and measure amniotic fluid, but also make early diagnosis of single or multiple births, fetal development, and whether there are any deformities or hydatidiform mole. It can only be performed after 16 weeks of pregnancy, with an accuracy rate of 80%, and requires cooperation of the fetal position.

2. Method 2 for checking whether the baby is a boy or a girl: Amniocentesis

Amniocentesis is mainly used to diagnose whether the fetus has chromosomal or neural tube defects. Since the chromosomes of the fetus can be known, the gender of the fetus can also be known. It is performed between 16 and 20 weeks of pregnancy. Its main purpose is to diagnose whether the chromosomes of the fetus are normal, but it is also used to diagnose the sex of the fetus. The accuracy rate is 99%, with a 1% miscarriage rate.

3. Method 3 for checking whether the baby is a boy or a girl: Chorionic villus sampling

Also known as "chorionic villus sampling", its main purpose is to diagnose whether the chromosomes of the fetus are normal, but some people also use it to diagnose the gender of the fetus. It is performed during the 10-12th week of pregnancy, with an accuracy rate of 99%, a 3%-5% miscarriage rate, and may cause fetal limb disabilities.

4. Method 4 for checking whether the baby is a boy or a girl: DNA blood test

Genetic engineering technology can be used to collect blood from the mother to determine the sex of the fetus. Blood can be drawn at 7 weeks of pregnancy to determine the gender, with an accuracy rate of 99.4% and the most reliable.
