Will multiple breast nodules turn into cancer?

Will multiple breast nodules turn into cancer?

The disease of multiple breast nodules is caused by abnormal hormone secretion and compression of the breast. This symptom may lead to cancer, especially malignant multiple breast nodules. Benign multiple breast nodules will not become cancerous, so you can rest assured. However, patients with multiple breast nodules should undergo surgical removal in time, otherwise it will cause damage to the breast function.

Nodule refers to the size of the lesion, not the nature of the lesion. "Nodule is just a descriptive term in imaging, which refers to the size of the lesion, not the nature of the lesion." In imaging examinations (such as CT or chest X-ray), round-shaped lesions with a diameter of less than 3 cm are usually described as nodules. When the diameter is less than 1 cm, it is often described as a "small nodule", and when the diameter is less than 0.5 cm, it is called a tiny or fine nodule. With the emergence of imaging equipment and inspection technology, especially multi-slice spiral CT in recent years, the resolution and thin-layer imaging capabilities have been greatly improved. More and more small or micronodules are being discovered, but most of them are benign.

It is confirmed that benign nodules will not become cancerous

Are multiple breast nodules serious? Is there a high chance that multiple breast nodules will become cancerous? Once nodules are detected, the most common treatment method is "regular check-ups." Why do we need regular check-ups? Is it possible that nodules will become cancerous in the future? Many people even believe that nodules are the early stages of cancer, or that nodules will turn into cancer sooner or later. In fact, the nature of the nodule will not change, that is, a nodule that has been clearly identified as benign will not become cancerous. However, the nature of the nodule must be determined through pathological diagnosis. It cannot be said that a nodule is absolutely benign or malignant if it has not undergone a pathological biopsy.

It should be emphasized that doctors can roughly judge the nature of many nodules based on their experience, and can even achieve a high accuracy rate for some nodules, such as breast hyperplasia. But since it is an empirical judgment, we should also understand that the "chance of error" is inevitable.

Causes of breast nodules

1This disease is a type of breast hyperplasia, which usually occurs in women of childbearing age. Usually, most patients will experience signs of pain during the menstrual cycle, but there will be no lumps in the breast. The pain often disappears on its own after the menstruation ends.

2Usually, the main cause of this disease is long-term endocrine disorders in patients, which will lead to structural degenerative changes in the breast tissue ducts and lobules and progressive growth of connective tissue in the patient's body, thereby inducing the occurrence of the disease.

3 In addition, if a woman has long-term menstrual disorders and is easily angered, her liver qi often cannot be effectively vented. Therefore, modern medicine currently believes that marriage, childbirth, diet, the external environment of human survival and genetic factors are also the main causes of breast diseases in patients.
