Can I take probiotics for postpartum constipation?

Postpartum constipation can be treated by taking probiotics. Due to the reduced mobility of postpartum mothers, changes in diet structure, sudden changes in abdominal pressure, and postpartum hormonal changes, constipation can easily occur. To relieve constipation, adjusting your diet is the key. Don't eat too much meat, eat more vegetables and fruits high in fiber, drink plenty of water, don't lie in bed all the time, get out of bed and exercise more, or take probiotics, all of which can effectively relieve the symptoms of constipation.

It is a good idea to take probiotics for postpartum constipation. The bacteria contained in probiotics can effectively excrete the feces and toxins accumulated in our intestines, while lubricating our intestines and promoting the intestinal tract's ability to stretch. Therefore, if postpartum constipation is severe, it is better to take some probiotics to promote bowel movements. However, constipation still requires us to prevent it in our daily life.

Preventing postpartum constipation

1. After delivery, we can promote intestinal peristalsis by doing some physical exercises, which can help us quickly restore muscle tension. Therefore, generally we can get up and do some simple activities 6-8 hours after delivery, and get out of bed and exercise appropriately the next day. This will help us to defecate early to prevent constipation.

2. Most of the time after giving birth, mothers stay in bed to rest. If we want to prevent constipation at this time, we can do some simple postpartum exercises in bed. Do some anal contraction exercises, which can help us prevent constipation.

3. The postpartum diet must be properly matched. It is best to combine meat and vegetables. Not only meat should be eaten, but also some fresh vegetables, fruits and melons. In addition, you should eat less irritating foods such as chili peppers. Sesame oil and honey have a laxative effect, so it is appropriate to eat more of them after delivery.
