It is mainly due to inflammation of the vulva or long-term inflammation of the vagina, which causes blockage of the Bartholin's gland duct. The Bartholin's gland fluid cannot be discharged, forming a local cyst. This type of cyst often has no clinical symptoms and is discovered during vulva cleaning or accidentally. Once infected, it will cause severe pain and even form an abscess, requiring an incision and drainage surgery. If a hard lump grows next to the vulva, is painless, and is contained within the skin, clinically it is necessary to rule out chancre caused by syphilis. In this case, a blood test for syphilis serum test is required.
