Changes in vaginal discharge after ovulation and conception

For couples who are preparing for pregnancy, they should try to have sex during the ovulation period, because having sex during the ovulation period can effectively increase a woman's probability of pregnancy. After a woman becomes pregnant, her body will actually undergo many changes. As long as a woman pays attention to these changes, she will know whether she is pregnant. Leucorrhea is also a kind of secretion that changes. So what changes will happen to leucorrhea after a woman becomes pregnant during ovulation?

Changes in vaginal discharge after ovulation and conception

Normal leucorrhea should be milky white or colorless and transparent, with a slightly fishy smell or no smell; its secretion amount and texture are affected by the levels of estrogen and progesterone in the body, and vary cyclically with the menstrual cycle, with varying amounts, textures and thicknesses. Generally, the amount of leucorrhea is less after the menstrual period; before ovulation, the increase in estrogen levels in the body promotes the proliferation of epithelial cells of the cervical glands, the secretion of cervical mucus increases, and the sodium chloride content in the mucus increases, which can absorb more water, causing the leucorrhea to increase during ovulation, and the texture is thin, clear, and looks like egg white, which can be stretched into long threads; after ovulation, estrogen levels gradually decrease, progesterone levels increase, the secretion of cervical mucus is inhibited, and the sodium chloride content in the mucus also decreases, making the leucorrhea at this time thick, milky white, with poor ductility, and easy to break when drawn.

In addition, there are also some physiological phenomena such as pregnancy and oral contraceptives, which can cause an increase in vaginal discharge. The cause is also related to changes in estrogen and progesterone levels in the body. If your vaginal discharge increases for no apparent reason, or is accompanied by changes in color, texture, or odor, you should be alert.

Common causes of increased leucorrhea include: ① In case of candidal vaginitis, the leucorrhea is yellow or white, and is often thick, but sometimes thin, and typically appears like tofu dregs or curds; ② In case of trichomoniasis, the leucorrhea is thin and purulent, yellow, and foamy, or like rice water, grayish white, and smelly; ③ In case of cervical erosion, the leucorrhea is generally yellow, sticky like mucus, and often odorless; ④ In case of gonorrhea, the leucorrhea is yellow pus-like; (5) In case of pelvic inflammatory diseases such as endometritis, the leucorrhea may increase, be yellow, thin, and often accompanied by abdominal pain; (6) In case of fallopian tube cancer, due to the tumor stimulating the fallopian tube epithelium to exude fluid and the necrosis of the diseased tissue, watery leucorrhea may occur continuously.
