Fracture of the cervix

Fracture of the cervix

The condition of a woman's uterus has a decisive influence on her reproductive organs. If the uterus is not in good condition, various gynecological diseases are likely to occur. When a woman's uterus develops a disease, it will not only affect the normal function of the uterus, but also affect the couple's life. However, there are many types of diseases that may occur in the uterus, among which cervical fracture is a uterine problem. So what exactly does the term cervical fracture mean?

A cervical fracture is a tear in the cervix, which usually occurs during childbirth. Because the mother's force is too strong, the cervical canal may be torn. Especially for older primiparas, if there is too strong resistance, the weight of the fetus is too heavy or the fetal position is abnormal, the mother's cervical canal will be strongly stimulated, causing damage and tearing.

If the cervical laceration is shallow during delivery and the amount of bleeding is not much, it will be difficult to detect at the time. If the mother's tear is deep and bleeding is heavy, the midwife can find the cervical tear after examination. Cervical laceration needs to be sutured immediately after discovery, and the doctor's suturing technique affects the healing of the cervix.

If the suture is done neatly, the torn cervix will recover quickly and well, its function will not be affected, and the scar will not be obvious. However, if the laceration is deep and the suture is not neat, or if the wound is shallow and not discovered and sutured in time, it will affect the healing of the cervix and may eventually split into several petals, forming a chronic cervical laceration. This type of cervix is extremely susceptible to infection in the future, and the incidence of cervical cancer will increase as a result.
