What causes low blood pressure in women?

Hypertension is a common problem for many obese men or the elderly. However, low blood pressure is also common in young women. Many women suffer from low blood pressure but do not understand the cause of low blood pressure. In fact, hypotension is generally divided into pathological and physiological. Low blood pressure in some young women is often related to lifestyle, genetics and physical health.

1. Constitutional hypotension. This condition is more common in women with poor physical constitution and is mostly caused by family heredity. The incidence of this condition is about 2.5%. Although the blood pressure will always be relatively low, discomfort symptoms will not often occur. It will only be discovered when the blood pressure is measured, and it is difficult to find the cause of the low blood pressure.

2. Postural hypotension. Some people often experience dizziness when they stand up suddenly or for a long time. This is mostly caused by low blood pressure and low blood sugar. Moreover, this situation is mostly common in people who have just recovered from a serious illness or have a weak constitution. It usually refers to a drop in blood pressure, dizziness, or even fainting, and temporary incontinence when the body suddenly changes from a supine to an upright position or stands for a long time. The cause of low blood pressure in this situation is not entirely clear, but studies have found that it is likely related to factors such as cerebral arteriosclerosis, poor automatic regulation of cerebral blood flow, or autonomic nervous system dysfunction.

3. Secondary hypotension. This situation is caused by other diseases and requires special attention. For example, chronic anemia, aortic stenosis, cardiomyopathy, certain wasting diseases such as tumors, tuberculosis, etc., these are all causes of low blood pressure.

4. Women are more prone to endocrine dysfunction. Chronic tonsillitis and nutritional disorders such as vitamin C, vitamin B, vitamin B1 and vitamin B6 deficiency can cause low blood pressure.
