Vaginal edema

Vaginal edema

Vaginal edema is a phenomenon that many women have. This is also a relatively abnormal symptom. This problem is generally caused by nonspecific vulvitis, Bartholin's glands, acute vulvar ulcers and other reasons. These diseases will have a great impact on women's vaginal health and reproductive system health. Next, I will introduce to you the causes of vaginal edema!

1. Nonspecific vulvitis

Stimulation from physical and chemical factors in life, lack of attention to hygiene, and physical weakness can all cause women's vulva to be invaded by bacteria and cause vulvitis, such as inflammation of the cervix and vagina; or wearing non-breathable nylon underwear that causes excessive vaginal secretions. These factors will create conditions for the growth and reproduction of bacteria in the vulva.

2. Bartholinitis

More common in women of childbearing age. This is because the Bartholin's glands are infected by bacteria such as Staphylococcus, Streptococcus, and Escherichia coli, which often causes acute inflammation. Bartholin's gland cyst: It is mostly caused by long-term chronic inflammation, which leads to obstruction of the Bartholin's gland duct, accumulation of glandular fluid, and cystic expansion of the gland; or it is caused by the absorption of pus after the acute Bartholin's gland inflammation subsides. Bartholin's gland cyst and Bartholin's gland abscess can transform into each other.

3. Acute vulvar ulcer

It is mostly caused by vulvitis for various reasons and is generally a manifestation of the vulvitis process. Irritation of the vulva; urine soaking the vulva; using unclean sanitary napkins and toilet paper to cause vulva infection, etc.

Acute vulvar ulcer, also known as Lipschutz ulcer, is a benign vulvar ulcer that is not a sexually transmitted disease and is not contagious. It is common in adolescent women and young girls. Systemic symptoms may occur during the onset of the disease, and the disease progresses rapidly. Tendency to relapse. Clinically it is similar to chancroid.

The cause of the disease is unclear. Some people believe that the disease is caused by Gram-positive large rods, while others believe that the disease is a clinical manifestation of Behcet's syndrome, erythema nodosum or genital herpes. Reduced systemic or local resistance, such as anemia, malnutrition, and irregular menstruation, plays a certain role in the occurrence and development of this disease.
