Yellow vaginal discharge

Yellow vaginal discharge

Yellow discharge from a woman's vagina may be a manifestation of a gynecological disease. This condition is also likely to occur when a woman suffers from vaginitis. This is generally a phenomenon caused by external bacterial infection or the growth of pathogens. When this happens, timely treatment is required. Pay more attention to personal hygiene and try not to have frequent sexual intercourse.

What is yellow vaginal discharge?

Yellow discharge from the vagina may be related to vaginitis, which is a common gynecological disease. The pathogens that cause vaginitis include Trichomonas, fungi, mycoplasma, chlamydia and bacteria. The pathogens can exist alone or in combination, and the pathogens can be infected with each other through sexual intercourse.

If the bacteria ascend to infect the pelvic cavity, it can cause blockage of the fallopian tubes and cause infertility. If the bacteria ascend through the urethra, it can cause cystitis, and in severe cases it can affect kidney function. Each different bacterial infection requires different medications to be effective. It is recommended to go to the hospital for examination, identify the cause, and then target treatment to avoid blind medication. Sexual intercourse should be avoided during the treatment period, and couples should be treated together. After three consecutive menstrual periods after treatment, a negative result means the condition is cured.

Causes

(1) Pathogen infection. The use of contaminated sanitary products allows pathogens to enter the reproductive tract through the vaginal opening, causing infection and increased vaginal discharge. Some types of pathogens enter the female reproductive system and may infect the reproductive tract, causing increased vaginal discharge. For example: When women go to the toilet, if they wipe the toilet paper in the wrong direction, they may bring bacteria from the anus into the reproductive tract and cause excessive vaginal discharge. Therefore, when women use toilet paper to wipe the anus, they should develop the habit of wiping from the vaginal opening toward the anus or to the side. (2) Trichomonas vaginalis infection. This infection can easily cause an increase in vaginal discharge, accompanied by a foul odor, and itching of the genitals. It is generally believed that this infection is a type of sexually transmitted disease, which can easily be transmitted between sexual partners. During treatment, the sexual partners must be treated at the same time to prevent cross-infection and achieve a complete cure. (3) Cervical erosion. The trauma of childbirth, changes in sex hormones, or inflammation of the cervix caused by sexual intercourse may lead to cervical erosion and increase the amount of leucorrhea. A small number of women may experience cervical erosion without any cause, which is called "congenital cervical erosion", which can also cause increased leucorrhea. (4) Filterable viral infections of the cervix, vagina, and vulva.

Some virus infections can be cured without treatment, such as the virus that causes the common cold. However, virus infections such as condyloma acuminatum often cause increased vaginal discharge.
