Which department should I go to for infertility?

When a woman suffers from infertility, her possibility of becoming a mother is eliminated, so most infertile women will go to the hospital for examination and treatment in time. Because the success rate of treating infertility is greatly increasing in modern society, infertile women should not wait and go to the hospital for treatment in time to increase the success rate of treating infertility. Which department should be mainly consulted when treating infertility?

Departments that women with infertility need to visit

1. You can go to the infertility department. Generally, female infertility requires a full-body examination, gynecological examination, ovarian function examination, endometrial examination, fallopian tube examination, etc. There are many reasons for female infertility, and different reasons correspond to different treatments. It is recommended to go to a professional hospital to find out the cause and then treat it accordingly.

2. If there is no infertility department, you can generally go to the reproductive department. Women should go to the hospital for relevant examinations 3-7 days after their menstruation ends. The main examination items include routine gynecological examination, basal body temperature measurement, fallopian tube and ovulation testing, endocrine hormone testing, cervical mucus and uterus examination, immune antibody testing and chromosome testing.

3. You can also go to the gynecology department for consultation. It is best to do a gynecological B-ultrasound one or two days before menstruation to check the overall condition of the uterus, adnexa, endometrial thickness, and whether the pelvic cavity is normal.

Infertility tests for women

1. Hysteroscopy: Hysteroscopy can be used to understand the situation in the uterine cavity and to detect lesions that may cause infertility, such as uterine adhesions, submucosal fibroids, polyps, and uterine malformations.

2. Hysterosalpingography: For women with no inflammation in the reproductive tract, contrast agent is injected into the uterus under B-ultrasound 3-7 days after the menstruation is over, and the filling of the uterus and fallopian tubes with the contrast agent is observed.

3. Immunological examination: This method can understand whether there are anti-sperm antibodies. In addition to anti-sperm antibody testing, post-coital tests and in vitro sperm penetration tests can also be performed to understand it.

4. Laparoscopic examination: If you need to further understand the pelvic condition, laparoscopy can be used. Laparoscopic examination can directly observe whether the uterus, fallopian tubes, and ovaries have any lesions or adhesions, and determine whether the fallopian tubes are unobstructed; about 20% of patients can be found to have lesions that were not diagnosed before surgery through laparoscopy.

5. Endocrine function measurement: For example, measuring serum estrogen and progesterone levels at different times of the menstrual cycle to understand the ovarian function, measuring the basal metabolic rate to understand the thyroid function; conducting adrenal function tests and serum prolactin measurements, etc.

With the continuous development of society, women's health has received more and more attention, and the improvement of medical standards has also greatly helped women's health. Therefore, don’t be too anxious when encountering infertility problems in daily life. Just go to a regular hospital and follow the general procedures for a physical examination to find out the cause of infertility and then receive treatment. I believe you can solve this difficult problem.
