Fetal movement is stronger when lying down than when sitting

In fact, fetal movement is a physiological phenomenon in which the fetus in the belly communicates directly with the mother. Therefore, when fetal movement occurs, mothers can communicate with the fetus through some language and gestures. Because the growth conditions of the fetus are different, the frequency of fetal movement varies from pregnant mother to pregnant mother. However, some pregnant mothers have found that the fetal movement is more frequent when lying down than when sitting. Is this normal?

Why do I have frequent fetal movements when I lie down at night?

The scientific explanation for fetal movement is that when the baby moves in the mother's womb, it impacts the uterine wall. Many pregnant women can feel fetal movement around five months of pregnancy. After five months, the mother's belly will become more and more visible, so the fetal movement will become more and more frequent. Basically, the fetal movement reaches its peak at 28 weeks of pregnancy. At this time, there is no space in the mother's uterus for the baby to move.

In fact, it is because the fetus has no awareness of day and night, so his eating, sleeping and playing every day naturally do not follow the day and night of the outside world. If it is night time and the baby is awake and full, then it is reasonable for him to want to stretch his muscles, right?

Moreover, at night, the pregnant mother lies in bed in a relaxed and leisurely state, with no one or anything else from the outside world to disturb her. For the fetus, this is a great opportunity to interact closely with the mother. He will of course be extremely excited and use fetal movement to attract the mother's attention, so that the mother can spend more time with him and play with him.

However, the mother’s psychology is different from that of the baby. After a busy day, it is rare for her to lie down and rest, but she is still tormented by the baby in her belly. How can she sleep well? So, to put it bluntly, frequent fetal movements at night are actually a beautiful and loving "misunderstanding" between the mother and the baby.

It is recommended that mothers have a good "chat" with their babies before going to bed, comfort the baby, and tell him that mommy needs to rest. If the mother really feels uncomfortable in her stomach, she can put a pillow under her waist to relieve the discomfort, and choose a comfortable sleeping position to help her fall asleep. Every mother who has gone through pregnancy is great and admirable. For the sake of the baby, the mother has to temporarily put up with it!
