Menstrual discharge

Menstrual discharge

I believe that every woman should have some understanding of the mechanism of menstruation. Menstruation is actually a phenomenon caused by the periodic shedding of the endometrium. Therefore, the main substances that make up menstruation are blood and endometrial fragments, but some women also find that when they have their period, there seems to be leucorrhea in their blood, making the menstruation particularly viscous. So is it normal to have leucorrhea during menstruation?

In addition to blood clots and endometrial fragments, menstruation actually also contains vaginal exfoliated epithelium. If people find that there is stringy leucorrhea in the menstrual blood, this is actually normal cervical mucus. Don't worry too much. If you find an odor, it may be caused by inflammation, and we need to go to the hospital for a detailed examination.

Normal leucorrhea for female friends should be milky white or transparent. It has a slightly fishy smell or is odorless. Its secretion amount is also affected by estrogen and progesterone in the body, and will change cyclically with the menstrual cycle, with the amount being more or less, and the texture being thinner or thicker. Generally, the amount of leucorrhea is relatively small after menstruation. Before ovulation, due to the increase in estrogen levels, the secretion of cervical mucus increases, and the amount of leucorrhea also increases. It is thin and clear in color, looks like egg white, and can be stretched into long threads.

After a woman's ovulation period, the estrogen level gradually decreases, the progesterone level increases, and the secretion of cervical mucus is suppressed. At this time, the texture of leucorrhea is thicker and has poor ductility. Especially if you have the habit of taking oral contraceptives, the amount of leucorrhea will increase. The reason is actually directly related to the changes in the estrogen and progesterone levels in the body.

Based on the above introduction, now everyone should know what it means to have stringy leucorrhea during menstruation. In fact, it is normal to have stringy leucorrhea during menstruation, because other things will be mixed in the blood. As long as people find that the leucorrhea has no odor and the color is not abnormal, it is fine. Most women will have leucorrhea during the ovulation period. After the ovulation period, women will enter the menstrual period, so sometimes the appearance of leucorrhea during the menstrual period may also be affected by ovulation hormones.
