Postpartum farts are very smelly

Farting after childbirth is a particularly troublesome thing, especially in a public place like a hospital. It is very embarrassing to fart from time to time, especially the smelly farts. In fact, farting after childbirth is a normal phenomenon. Farting will occur regardless of whether it is a natural birth or a caesarean section. Especially after a caesarean section, farting is more frequent. So why are there so many and particularly smelly farts after childbirth?

1. Farting during caesarean section

The baby was delivered by caesarean section. On the second day after the birth, a handsome male doctor walked in and asked: Bed 29, have you started farting today? What? Farting? How can I answer this question? Although I am a mother, I am still a shy woman. While I was still embarrassed, the handsome male doctor spoke again: Why haven't you farted yet? If you need to fart, ask your family to help you walk around a few circles and fart sooner! Then he turned around gorgeously, leaving me with only his white back.

Following the doctor's advice, I walked around the corridor twice with difficulty and asked others, only to find out that it is very important to fart after a caesarean section.

[Reasons for farting after cesarean section]

During a caesarean section, the internal environment of the body is exposed to the outside world and air is inhaled, causing an imbalance in the normal internal pressure, so it takes some time to recover after suturing. Farting requires anal pressure and coordinated internal functions, so it is naturally not so easy to fart during the recovery period. It is generally determined by one's own recovery ability. Once you fart, it means that the system of the internal environment is functioning normally, so the doctor should observe whether you fart.

[Response]: Therefore, doctors will recommend that mothers who have undergone caesarean section try to get up 24 hours after delivery, and must walk around twice within 48 hours to expel gas as early as possible so that the internal functions of the body can function in a coordinated manner as soon as possible.

2. Farting during childbirth

I've always heard that people tend to fart easily after a caesarean section because the gas left in the body from the surgery needs to be discharged. But I had a natural birth. Why do I keep farting after giving birth? It’s so loud and smelly, it makes me feel really embarrassed.

[Reasons for farting during childbirth]

This is mainly because the fetus will compress the gastrointestinal tract in the uterus, and after the fetus is delivered, intestinal gas will be discharged, so farting will occur. It is also closely related to postpartum diet.

For example: if you eat too much starchy food, sweets, sweet potatoes, potatoes, etc., or eat too much pasta, etc., because these foods cause excessive gas production in the intestinal cavity, leading to more farting and larger amounts of stool, you should reduce starchy food and increase protein and vegetable food to achieve a balanced diet. At the same time, pay attention to your eating habits. It is possible that your eating habits cause you to inhale more air. It is recommended that you eat less bean foods, chew slowly, and eat more light vegetables.

[Response]: Pay attention to your eating habits and eat less gas-producing foods; chew slowly to prevent too much air from entering the esophagus.

3. Vaginal farting

It has been three months since I gave birth to my child. Recently, I found that I felt like I was farting in my vagina. I looked it up online and found out that it is called vaginal flatulence. Are there any mothers who have given birth naturally and have the same feeling? There is gas coming out of the vagina, just like farting. It comes out of the vagina first and then out of the anus. It's like this every time, and it happens quite often every day. What's going on? It shouldn't have any effect on the body, right?

[Causes of vaginal farting]

The so-called vaginal farting is called "vaginal flatulence". In fact, this is all caused by changes in the birth canal.

In a woman who has never given birth, under normal circumstances, the labia majora and minora on both sides of the vulva are closed, covering the vaginal opening, like two closed doors, preventing air from entering the vagina.

During childbirth, the fetus passes through the birth canal, and the vagina obviously expands and relaxes. In addition, many women have episiotomy wounds that cannot cover the vagina, allowing air to enter the vagina. When you stand up or increase abdominal pressure, air is expelled from the vagina, often with a sound.

[Response]: (1) Take medicines that can replenish qi and blood and improve the vital energy; (2) Strengthen physical fitness and promote postpartum recovery; (3) Local muscle exercises. In addition to postpartum health exercises, focus on pelvic floor, anal and vaginal muscle contraction exercises to help the recovery of the birth canal.

I think all moms should know something about farting after childbirth. Whether you like it or not, the fart is there and it will never leave you, so you have to let it out. So don't hold back your fart just for the sake of your image. For example, at home, feel free to fart. Just keep the room ventilated and don't suffocate yourself.

If you are outdoors or in a public place, just take it slow. If you really can't do it, find a crowded place and fart. No one can hear the fart amid the noise. As for who farted, haha, no one can tell with so many people around.
