Low glucose tolerance for 1 hour

Low glucose tolerance for 1 hour

Everyone knows that blood sugar is a very important reference value for our body. If patients often have hypoglycemia, it is very dangerous. Once the blood sugar of the human body is low, the whole person will become weak and very dangerous. If there is no one around or if there is no timely rest and energy replenishment, it is likely to endanger life. So what is the reason for the low glucose tolerance for 1 hour?

Many people found that their blood sugar level was low one hour after the glucose tolerance test. Everyone wants to know the reason for this situation. Doctors say that the main reasons for low blood sugar level one hour after the glucose tolerance test are abnormal pancreatic function, obesity, lack of exercise, high blood lipids, hyperinsulinemia, etc.

One of the most commonly used methods for diagnosing diabetes clinically is to test glucose tolerance. However, some people find that their blood sugar is low one hour after the test. What is going on?

Low blood sugar after one hour of glucose tolerance is an intermediate state between normal blood sugar levels and diabetes. Under normal circumstances, the fasting blood sugar value range is 6.1mmol/L~7.0mmol/L. Under normal circumstances, the glucose tolerance test is to take 75 grams of glucose orally in the early morning and measure the blood sugar after one hour. If the blood sugar value is found to be greater than or equal to 7.8mmol/L and less than 11.1mmol/L, it can basically be determined as impaired glucose tolerance. The main reason is that their body's pancreatic islet function is resisted, and the insulin content in the body can no longer meet the needs of maintaining normal blood sugar levels.

Nowadays, there are more and more obese young people. These people are at risk of insulin resistance. Medical experts have found that obese people's ability to respond to insulin is half that of thin people. They gradually develop antibodies to insulin, which mainly manifests as abnormal pancreatic function. The overwhelmed pancreatic function will eventually be overwhelmed, and eventually no insulin can be secreted. Low blood sugar will appear one hour after the glucose tolerance test, and they may eventually develop type 2 diabetes.

People who are obese, lack exercise, have elevated blood lipid levels, have a family history of diabetes, and have hyperinsulinemia are more likely to experience low blood sugar one hour after glucose tolerance, and 5% to 15% of patients will eventually develop diabetes. Domestic and international epidemiological surveys have shown that people with impaired glucose tolerance are at high risk of diabetes and cardiovascular diseases, and impaired glucose tolerance is often accompanied by multiple metabolic risk factors.
